thinking about it the other day, i remember once (many moons ago), walking the dog on elwood beach, the morning after a ripper storm....no breeze and a really small but glassy wave in front of the concrete pier about 200m up from the sailing club....there was also an unthinkable wave at ST Kilda marina, where the windsurfers launch from.....mind u the water was chocky brown full of branches....
I saw a photo online once with some nice clean waist to shoulder high peelers looking along the beach towards Melbourne but havent been able to find it again since.
But heres a site with a few photos of Port Phillip Bay surf.

The location of the photo under "the other side of the bay heading" is now a regular haunt of a few SUPers.
yeah. good pics
it was like this, but they were leftys.....
once in a blue moon material.
wherez this???
Right across from some shops with as the website says "a rip view"..... I dont think I'll get lynched for saying.........its certainly not a secret spot. Pt Lonny Front Beach. Its one of the waves that has been a motivation for me to get a SUP, its about 10 minutes from home for me and the wife can sit in a cafe nice and warm and drink coffee.
Some of the pics I posted a while ago were taken there.. at the time this guy was an unknown SUPer, I now know his name is Sparks and he paddles most days.
Oh yeah forgot to say..... most times if its good and its outside of school hours you share it with about 50 nippers, boogie boarders and foamy riders.
Looks like a fun little wave......I bet you that old guy there is wishing he had a board and a paddle
