Just got back from a surf trip to the west coast of Bali, had some great waves, had insomnia, too amped from the day's surf to sleep, ahh its good feeling to be constantly "surfed out"

thanks lads, yep total blast, surfed about 7 different places, various sizes and varying adrenaline rushes, must say I enjoy when its not survival surfing these days!
We flew with Jetstar, they have a 2.77 limit and it all came back in one piece, after traveling on previous occasions with three young kids, traveling with a sup is a breeze, just need long straps to tie it on the car roof

I am heading over this Friday for a quick 5 days and are staying at Sanur so will let you know how I go. I have surfed short boards in Bali for last 25 years, but this will be my first time on Sup. I am getting a JL from Jankie at Sanur SUP so am hoping he will know some spots to avoid the short board crowds.

woops.... late edit.... "taking a 'surf' trip to Bali with a little ' 8'6" ' LSD

Kerokoban prison is a chilling reminder of what side of the law to stay on in Indo, when I first went to Bali it stood amongst the rice paddies, now its surrounded by the "suburban houses" but nonetheless when you drive past, it has still got one of those eerie aura's that sends chills through you

Ifrenchy2007 I am leaving on the 18th March, this time staying @ Seminyak
last year stayed at sanur, great spot for supping
I would also recommend a trip to dreamland spent the day, nice waves and was lucky as no crowds.
I am flying Garuda, had anyone had experience with the way they treat SUPs?

Cheers

Boyz go up west coast balian, medewi are notable but if you are surfing together and adventurous there looks a whole lot of places up that way suitable and no crowds for sups the road up there is treacherous with huge potholes and kamakazi truck drivers don't do the motor bike thing you see and hear of horror stories, take 200,000 each to join the medewi surf club you get a t shirt and help the locals keep the beach clean and support the local young talent, it would be great to take an old sup and paddle over there and leave for the locals as they were pretty interested in the whole idea of sup but those in a job may only make $4 per day so the cost of sups are out of reach for them, the locals are a pretty cool and friendly bunch

Ockanui , i think the balineses on sups , no travellers would get a wave, early 70s i wish no one left a surfboard behind , -they should of left a computer behind with facebook page open, then they would have never advanced into surfing, too busy. Waves look good there, did you get some waves at balian as well ?
