hey all, i am wanting a monster size board to paddle long distance, sort off, take crab pots, basically hunt and cruise with ease on water. So if anyone can tell me or even better post pics on how you can do tie down cords or any other idea please let me know. oh rod holders too please and thanks
14' Surftech Laird Coastrunner for sure.
Has bits all over it for tie downs, 14 x 30 x 5 something - 281 Litres and is a blast in small waves if you feel that way inclined.
Check them out.
Ask Oliver he did a number on a Naish a few years ago,tie downs, rod holders, knife rack and used the deck to scale them.
naish nalu 11"6.
heaps on the buy and sell forum and they are stable as.
just adapt something to the mast track
if u get and old tradies esky, put a rode holder on the front, bang a 2 pin chinook base plate thru it and screw it to the track on the board your set. paddles fine and even stays in tack if u roll the barge.
if caught numerous squid of mine. no probs at all.
starboard fisherman is pretty wide, but you could fit your deck chair too if your that way inclined.
if you could show me some pics that would be better than good,am simple so like to lookie, thanks heaps for the tips
ok thanks all, tke Laird is lookink the goods so far just due to the lenghth. that starboard would be good if it came in at 14. Will try and demo one and see. I just thought the longer the board the easier to paddle and carry more stuff with ease. Oliver it would be great for some help since you seem to be the man with hunting on water type craft/sup oh a deck chair might not be so bad for chasing the big ones
Grab a 14' Glide
I have used it for just what you are after when not training on it. Good for downwinders as well.
I have one for sale if interested for a good price. I am after the new 12'6' when released.
I know its been posted before, and it was someone else's invention but our fishing rig set up is about a simple as it gets.
Not pretty but does the job and fits any board we choose to take!
If you wanna get a pretty one, the Hobie 12 foot ATR cruiser board has a series of plug holes ready to attach whatever type of cargo net you want.
thanks again. the shark vid was cool, have caught a few big monsters in the kayak. will be doing a few demos i think. Lobes, liked the link, that was sorta kinda what i had in mind. if anyone else has got ideas or pics put them so i can be more confused. Want this beast to be perfect
Even the Angulo Big Buggah 11'11" x 31 x 4 and 3/4" or something has a mast track very stable beast i use it for long distance paddle DW and also surfs great.
Happy hunting
tell me more about that beast please. i have major storage issues and i dont want to get rid of any boards i have. So this beast handles all conditions well? does it DW well, not that i have done one but it looks like a heap of fun so am intrested in that side as well. What the yak cant do i think my sup plan will be killer. Am getting a bit excited. might even look at a custom. As is always said demo demo demo and that is what i will be doing.
