Great video.
I have two SB Whopper on my SUP academy fleet and I've never tried them in the surf. The boards I've been riding are the brushed carbon versions of the 2011 Pocket rocket and the 2011 8'5 Pro, with a 2012 Pro coming soon (hopefully next week), so i never gave it a try in the surf because I feel like they weight a ton.
I know that from touring in flat water the handling of the board is great, but this video came to me as a complete surprise. I wasn't expecting to see such nice carves and tail drifts on the whopper...
Great video once again!
yeh the board really surprised me how well it went once i put a smaller back fin in, i can turn it just as hard as my 9ft coreban,
I think Cam can throw the whopper around is because he is 6 foot 5' and about 120kgs!!!!!!! sorry mate!
I was gonna say... a good surfer can surf anything.
It's nice to see ripping on a board that most folks put in the cruiser category.
Shows that the potential of any board is only limited by the rider and proper effort.
Great maneuvering on that board! Looks like a fun wave. Pretty cool how you get off just before the crashing rocks as well.
