I was told that muscle weighs 3x as much as fat.

I've been hitting the Gym three times a week, 45min a time, for the past 6 or so weeks, and have gone down two belt holes... but the bloody scales say the same thing!!

Hey mac - we must be just missing each other every day. I have been surfing the wide break at greeny (cooly). Started out off the point this morning in the dark on those very very very shallow and very very very fast little peelers and then moved wide into cooly for a couple of really nice but rare little pearls. Last friday was amazing at the pass with about four of us out. was only tiny but long long rides. The missus on her mal had a blast in the shallows and I was (hate to admit it) on the other type of surfcraft and getting rides from off the rock all the way to the rocks at clarks !! Only took it out cos there was nobody else out and conditions perfectly suited to the big beast.
Will be out with a mate at dawn on wednesday at cooly if you are about.

B

P.S - hey obct I would be quite confident that the 8'0 would comfortably handle a guy up to 95-100kg.

asea - your boss needs one of two things:

1: a surf lesson
or
2: a bitch slappin !!

more than happy to help out with the first, but the second you are on your own buddy.
I don't reckon you will be missing much on Wednesday mate - probably only be 2ft and maybe a little glassy and maybe a little uncrowded and the ex norwegian model who works at the coffee shop over the road can sometimes be a little slow bringing out the freshly baked croissants. You are probably better off at work

It does. very comfortably.
I'm around 96kg and the 8.0 7S is spot on. I'm down from 105kg and it worked very nicely at that too.
How big has anyone had a 7S out in? I'd love to find out how they go in bigger swell than we're currently getting around Perth I haven't yet had the chance to push it into some bigger, more interesting waves, but reckon it might handle them surprisingly well...

SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, anyway hot off the press mate surfed straddie last wed on his 7s 8ft which he loves weighing at 95 kgs, and caught a 5 to 6ft wave, which he said dropped out from under him and got worked over to pop up to find his board clear snapped in half.he is getting it repaired but thinking of a 7ft 3. cheers asea

I have surfed my 7'3" 7S in fast 4-5ft beachies and it went fantastically...

Also surfed down south reef at 6-8ft, but to be honest, it was getting too big for me and I was sitting out on the shoulder getting the fatter part of the wave...

On both occassions though, the 7S flew when you got in the sweet-spot of the wave - without a doubt the fastest board I have ever owned.

G'day obct,

Mine is PU

Deck has some compressions from use (18+ months old - used all the time), and it has a few pressure dings on the bottom from surfing at a crowded metro line-up...

I would buy another one tomorrow without looking at anything else if I needed to. Just suits me and my style of surfing...

Before I got the 8.0 I heard so many stories about how the superfishes were too flat to surf in hollow/suckier waves and wouldn't handle decent beachies but that is crappola ! I have previously owned a 6'3 superfish (when my body worked) and have surfed that board in up to double o/h with no problem so long as you are careful. l reckon the 8'0 has got even more rocker than the 6'3 had and there is no reason it wont also handle bigger waves. I have only surfed up to maybe 2-3 on this board so far but cant wait to put it to the test. I think the secret with these boards is to use their incredible paddle speed to get in early and I doubt there is a section you couldnt make cos the boards are so insanely fast.

Mate I don't reckon all eskimos like ice so have a go on mine before spending
any money. I am sure you will love it but you would be crazy to not try one first if you have the opportunity.

On the first few surfs on fast beachies, I did 'nose' a couple, and stacked a few by dipping the nose... just as with any new board, it takes a couple of surfs to work it out...

from my review on the Global Surf Industries site:
Bruce White from NSW, Australia says:
I am a 59 year old longboard rider who finds that when I travel (cheap flights) planes don't like my 9 ft boards. Solved the problem with an 8ft XL and a recent trip to the north end of the North Island of New Zealand confirmed that it can handle everything I came across from small sloppy Shipwrecks to a brilliant 4ft Elliotts Beach. Hoping to stop falling off the back soon, need to anticipate the acceleration of this board.

Good topic - I have been looking at these for a while. Does anyone know if someone is hiring these on the Gold Coast / Tweed?

I have been thinking of using one as a shortboard - I'm 6'5" and 99kg so I was thinking around 6'8 / 10

Dazzler - I'm 110kg and surf the 7S 7'3" as my #1 board. No problems in conditions from 1ft to well over headhigh... if I could drop below 100kg I'd almost certainly look at the 6'8".

A couple of days ago the boardroom had a really nice 6'10 superfish for sale for a very good price.
