Hey breezers!

While many of you probably spent Australia day absolutely blind, I was surfing in our first state competition for the year!

A great trip with great waves and even better weather!

How does this relate to Longboarding you might ask?

Well, I surfed in the opens for the first time this year and placed second only to ex WA state champion Chris Fullston! So stoked! Congratulations to Chris though, a great long boarder and a great bloke overall!

I also surfed in the Under 21s short boards but had very tough competition with my first heat having the current state champion and also another of the best surfers in the state in my heat. I was sent to requals which I won and was put through to semis where I again drew the same two from my first heat plus another great surfer!

I shall post some photos and videos over the coming days!

Stay stoked and hope everyone is getting some waves and good weather!
Tom.

Well done Tom ! Good to see you enjoying success and having a good time. And for the record I was not blind on australia day ! I had to go to Newcastle to SPs stomping ground - we went to the Bar Beach bowling club and I was the designated driver as it was the fianc??s work colleagues party. Great skate bowl as well

Cheers man!

Glad to hear you had a safe Aus day to say the least! 4 stabbings in one town in Tassie on Aus day :(

Had a sick little skate bowl at Bruny, was sick fun! Pity I can't skate worth a damn haha

Cheers guys!

I am not making the video this time, one of our best mates is ( the current U21 champ) but I will look through the photos today and post a few here and on instagram.

Keen for the next one now! Went and looked at the surf at 6 this morning, no one out and about 3-4, just wind is a bit ****ty so I might wait

Teacup, Tom, Teacake, what ever you want to call me!

Hey Teacake, good work youngen.

I have been to Bruny Island a few times.

It is a fanatastic place. Got good surf (farking cold though) at Cloudy Bay and Lagoons.

the other great thing is the food circuit, cheeses, pizzas, oysters etc etc all local and beautiful.

Love the place. Except there are lots of BLACK SNAKES down south.

Yeah they held the comp at middle bay, just around the corner from Cloudy, had good right handers there.

The day before the comp we looked at lagoons but wind was a bit ****e.

Good trip! East coast is still better though!

Nice place, but as I said, I still reckon the east coast is nicer, a bit too wild on bruny at times.

I will put photos up soon.

Were you a ballet dancer in your more formative years Tom? Some great shots there - keep up the good work. Those waves looked like lots of fun.

To be honest they were shocking! Haha too steep in sections to nose ride, then too fat on other sections and very difficult for turns, and fast! We got the best of it in our heat, the other heats they were surfing 4-5 feet offshore closeouts!

Did everyone take a look at the video? Everyone give my mate a thumbs up if you can!
Tom.
