Mate, its a replica of my fave all time mal - the MSJ Super, only in 8ft form. I was reluctant to get a super h/p 8ft board due to the massive rocker pushing a bit of water in small conditions but Tully tells me that bringing it down from 9'1 to 8'0 will lower the entry rocker and he's also beefed up the thickness for me to give me some more paddle power. Realistically its an h/p board for a 100kg guy I suppose at 8'0 x 22 x 3 1/8 but as I've just started prone paddling again I need all the help I can get. Tully says it will be the ultimate h/p board for someone that wants to still turn hard and ride sucky waves but maybe isn't quite so quick to their feet or in peak paddling condition due to age or injury - so if it's half as good as he promises I will be over the moon.

Did you buy a Lance or just borrow one for test ? I had one a few years ago so would be interested to hear what you think of it.

Mac, I just gotta come up with another name for an 8'0 now rather than a mini-mal - it just doesnt sound hard-core does it.

I think maybe HPML (high performance mid length) waddya reckon ?

Mate, I owned one for about a month a few years ago and hated it - 2nd worst board I ever bought (except for all the Mcts - they were all sh#t )

Amazing board to turn but didn't like the amount of water it pushed paddling.

Have you heard about Tomayamas little incident ?

Tomayama worked out a way to get a 9.3 in the back seat of his car ok - so its not really funny - lets just say he now has two 4 1/2 ft takayamas

A case of - the wrong board with the wrong fins in the wrong place on the wrong wave on the wrong day - kinda went all wrong
