Anyone else tried taking snapshots out of go pro videos? I do it all the time and upload those images to instagram and what not.
Although quality isn't as great can get the perfect timing every time!
Here is what I mean:
Tom.
Looking good Tom but I still can not get my head around a full steamer in summer
Thats because you don't know what cold is....
Great shots Tom

Lol, too soft. You tried the snapshots at all ted? I reckon Supanimal may have but wondering if anyone else has/uses a go pro!
Tom,
Hey mate, great shots - nice board too ! LOL
Here's couple from days gone by.
I just screen grab them from iPhoto after previously using 'mpeg streamclip' which has a capture mechanism but quality no better IMO.

Haha very nice board! And yours also! I figured you would use some sort of screen grab!
I reckon it works a treat! I want to try filming in 4k res and see how the images turn out then after a frame grab.
Which gopro do you have?
Tom.
Hi mate.
I've got the 2 but am just about to upgrade....the 3 silver has worse quality for stills than the 2 apparently, the old 'black' is better but the new 3+ will be exceptional for stills from all accounts but it's over $100 more than last years black.
I'm running a Mac and the screen capture then enhance tools do the job IMO...I'm sure there are much better programs but you pay for what you get.
Or pirate for what you get in some cases!
I would love a 3+ but our hero 3 black is fine!
Would love to buy a quadcopter for the go pro though, would be sweet!
Mac, pfft.

I grew up surfing with snow on the hill above the beach and off shores blowing - seen my fair share of cold - its just I know better now Was down your way in winter in 2013 and swore I would never do that to myself again reminded me of the times I spent in Europe and Chile. I much prefer the warmer water temps these days.

Sounds about right... I'd normally put an evil smiley after that comment but fat fingers on an iphone just doesn't work.
So Ted... I'm just taking the piss. I kinda figured you'd know what cold was
Personally I really like the cold. You get less of these hipster dudes with the big beards and no respect for the lineup. They come out and drop in or snake everyone just becayse they think they're good. Bloody pains in the arse...
You make some very valid points Mahanumah plus wetsuit technology has moved along a lot in the last 5 years. I think the beginner one is the key though - the cold water frightens them off and it stops the hoards. Maybe I should reconsider my living arrangements
I'm getting a 4/3 this season seeing as how I'm standing up a lot now. Not by choice but its still surfing.

Hence the reason I love Tassie so much! Just checked the local point then, 2-3ft and only about 4 guys out!
I am off for a wave!

Bahaha, ridiculous! I surfed our beachies yesterday, well one of about 15, perfect 2-3ft right handers, perfect weather, super clean offshore, breaking for about 50-150m and a crowd of about 12 at one stage.
I surfed from about 20 to 8 until about 1 ish and it was soooo much fun! Shorty and longboard!
Paddled out on the shorty, got a few, then all the old fellas came out so I grabbed the longboard and did some crossovers with them, might have given a bit of cheek to them as well Then back on the shorty after moving the 4x4 off the beach so I didn't get bogged
Tassie is the place to live fellas!
Can't stress it enough!
Tom.
From today Tom. With stills in second half.
The dreaded 666! Na, nice video! Is that an ECS sup? :)
