Finally its arrived! Its on from 7pm and I am hoping to find some free time to watch it........fortunately I am doing dry July at the moment as otherwise I would probably go through half a case a night watching it before bed and ending in divorce
Go England!
Had a look at the Aussie team this morning , bit of a strange team I think there are about 6 opening batsmen in there .
Let's face it English pace attack contains no Malcolm marshalls , looks a bit defensive to me but happy to be wrong .
Sadly I cannot see Boof's mob coming remotely within even sniffing distance of the Queen's 11's nad protectors 3 zip if the Colonials are lucky .... Hughes to be the Bunny & young Agar to be the next big show ticket.
**** me a kiwi that supports qld, manly and the poms....
Can't wait.. Bring on the cricket and tour... Sleep is overrated
ted- the authorities have been notified.
pup- your on dangerous ground- a 12 carton fine you heathen
mac- just being you is enough punishment for any man
Jeepers I am so wishing I had a cold beer in my hand right now.......
SP you can get odds if you like Poms 1st test into Qld in the Origin for just over $3 Greta finish coming up in the Tour tonight - a magical place - should make for some sensational pictures.
I wonder if we will get a ball as good as Steve Harmison's to start the match - that was a classic
Couple of interesting selections for you Aussies there....some early ball movement as well....should be a fine start to the series!
When you think about it maybe the stupid resting of players has worked as all the ones (and more) that they wanted are there and fit - e.g. Patterson
Bowling them all out for 212 is a good result...4-75 our turn at the crease is not....fingers crossed Smithy and Phil Hughes can get the job done tonight....I predict :
Watson to be dropped for the 3rd test
Peter Siddle man of the series
Aussies to win 3 -1 with 1 game a draw or washed out
Going to be very interesting first session. I have been calling Phil Hughes to be leading run scorer for the series for the past 4 months, although he has technical flaws such as can't play a ball going across him he has scored a lot of runs at first class level and scored a lot of 100s for a 24 yr old.
My take on Day 1:
Watched it all except for the last hour of English innings, have struggled all day.
Siddle was a stand out as was Jimmy Andersen not sure if that makes want to give up beer & steak or do a nude photo shoot for a gay mag like those 2!!
KP looked out of sorts and Trott may have wasted an opportunity as he was settled and ready to roll.
Root was a dud.
Was puzzled when Watson opened the bowling after the lunch break and then read this morning his hammy / leg was sore, thought he was getting selected for his batting, he did make a stylish and powerful 13 from 14 balls.
Cowan's shot was poor noting that a number of the dismissals that had fallen throughout the day were caught behind the wicket to shots away front the body to wide / full deliveries.
My fav part was reading the Guardian this morning....
Michael Clarke narrowly avoided the hat-trick but then received what, when he sits in his armchair and reflects long after his retirement, he may come to regard as the best delivery he ever faced.
Anderson can produce some stunning bowling but this was just sublime, angling in, pitching and darting away to beat the outside edge and clip the offstump. Anderson aeroplaned his delight as the coach stood on the team balcony and applauded his admiration. It was stunning.
Smith looks solid and Anderson is not doing anything with the ball by the look of it.......might be a good chance here that Aussie could score a few runs today. Conditions look good.......
Oh my god......just ignore this post!! Jeepers didn't I put my foot in it! Sorry
Interesting how over the years LBW decisions have changed .
It used to be if the bowler bowled around the wicket , there was no way a LB appeal would succeed .
May be with the computer modeling that had to change ?
