Hi
I am looking at a new longboard for myself here, I have seen a laguna bay single fin
But.... Its 9'6
My question is do these singles come in a 9ft or just the 9'6 being a nose rider?
I looked on the site but i only see the 9'6 in the same dimentions at 9'6 x 23 x 3 i think it was.
I am not sure with laguna bay shapes, But at 85kg i presume the style and shape of this stick is not to much board for the surfer weight
I ride a waldon magic 9'0 now and its great but i am gravitating to a single fin
One things for sure, at your weight on that board, you're sure going to catch some waves.
If it's a nose rider you're probably going to be doing a different style of riding compared to the Walden so the length is not so much a factor.
You will want to move around a lot more and do big deliberate turns off the tail with all the front of the board rearing its head out in front of you, then moving up quickly to trim and do it all over again in the opposite direction.
Is that the type of riding you want to move towards?
Or do you think you'll always be a hotdogger who prefers the shorter style?
Keep in mind that these thoughts are coming from someone who can only do these things in his dreams
Hi BP,how are things matie?and the surf shop going well for you?
Send them an email, work out what you want and order a custom
its too easy BP
Thanks guys, I am a into performance longboarding yes, but want to do more traditional surfing but a board that is not 100 percent limited to it
But the single is a must, takes out the ohhhh should have the bites in today
Mac will email you now, yep shop is going ok, but the earth quacks have cause a up raw on sales and only one beach is open since two days ago
I surfed the closed beach last night 2 ft clean on the mal and i have not got a extra head growing so cant be that bad on sewage
I say harden the f... up and get into it, then i might sell some boards
I'm a fan of side bites.... for me, they just stay in there all the time....
Come and hang in the Longboard Room a bit more BP. Distinct lack of grumpy old men in here, on comparison to the SUP room.
The above board i think has 50/50 rails I THINK You guys would know more about this shape than me.
Took it out and loved it, stable and turns nice off the tail, I was thinking it would be a hard one to get use to being a little more traditional in style but was great
Question, i want to change out the factory fin for something else??
Looking at fcs woody clasic but im thinking 9.75 ?? board is 9'6
yes, good looking fin.
Looks like a hatchet for most if it other than that sweep back at the top and that little cutaway.
I reckon you would never need more that 9.5 inches of fin but a quarter of an inch isn't going to make a scrap of difference either way.
Thanks, i think i will order one in, Will take photos of the board i hope tommorow just need to do a small repair, So dam tied up doing every other buggers board
Never thought i would like a single esp with 50/50 rails but i would say its my fav board yet
Boarder Paul I just took a few snaps of my boards with the different fins and rails ect. I'll get them loaded up and you can have a look at them.
That board you got looks like a noserider shape.
Thanks, im sure the board i have here is the nose rider model .. Looks the same as the website anyway and same spray, I would not say the nose it overwide though
But its more a modern old school board i think
If anyone can comfirm the model this would be great
I would of said that as well, But after a ride on this and the looks of it im in love with 50/50 rails and singles.
My next one will be a custom with old school tint
Thats a great pic and you look so happy
Such an awesome board, I would love a shorter version of that like a 7,6
Couple of nice lookers there vanders
The swell backed off so hit mate and give us another report.
That Astro is nice and you can see the quality just at a glance.
Looking for something a little wild on the tint lads[}:)]
doggie that outer shape would also be nice on a 7.6 as you said.
Mac I'm out at Roma for 2 weeks so no surfing for me, looked at the camera today & wished I was there.
Doggie that pics was on that Sat morning before we hit Byron, was a good weekend!!!

The Cooperfish site has some pretty nice tints. A nice tint with a pigment overlay can look good too.
