To put the lake into perspective;
Lake Superior is roughly 500km x 250km, less some corners...
Port Phillip Bay (Melbourne) is roughly 50km x 40km, in a vague diamond.
The Mediterranean is roughly 3700km from Gibraltar to Numpties who love a religious fight over in the middle east. But Sicily and Italy stick out like "dogs balls!". But the Med can commonly dish up 600km-1000km of water without a land mass in the way, which is also big enough to generate a wave.... !!
Now that sh#t really appeals to me for some reason.
Don't know if I have mentioned this before, but one of my surfing dreams before I die (or soon after) is to surf the galveston shipping channel
