For all the McTavish livers ou there Ive been reading Bob's book given the spare time I have got at the moment. It got me thinking,, what is the one McTavish model that just says "McTavish"
The Original?
Blue Bird?
Tracker?
I would say the blue bird as well. I would love one hand shaped by Bob before he...... um
Before he, um... Stops shaping!? !!
My "blank" McTavish is inscribed with "Occasional Pin - fully hand shaped"...
You'll see a few McTavish boards floating around with no "model" reference...
I have a 7'10 Step-Up style board, but it is badged as "Rincon 68". It's model that never made it to a full release. The Rincon '68 is based on the templates that Bob was doing at Rincon CA in '68, but generally modernised.
A shame the resident McT is not around to answer your question That Rincon board looks lovely Simondo - a few pressure dings - no doubt its had a few big sessions out at those points of yours.
Oh I'm sure he is lurking/gate keeper With a keen eye on proceedings
Just checked into our Bali home I asked bob a while back if you were to wall hang just one board?he said fantastic plastic or the tracker
