yeah its either a really wide board or he has small feet

Personally I probably would not want to wear a legrope either when its 12 foot and you have a board like that attached to you.....but realistically I would be on the beach watching at that size so no need to even think about it .....mates who have surfed it have said that the currents can be horrendous so trying to swim in with a broken leggie can be a very long and tiring exercise even at 6 to 8 ft.

Thats right Ted . A leggie on a board that big in waves like that would be more of a hazard. A board that big tombstoning would have you underwater longer than you'd probably like.
