Looks like that swell should really start to kick in over the next few days....sadly we will get some wind as well but there are a few spots not far from me that will not mind that wind too much if anyone wants to join me for a paddle on Wednesday. I am hoping for some nicely sheltered 2 * overhead (maybe more) reefs. If it looks too big I shall postpone surf day till Thursday. I shall charge up the camera.
mate thurs fri & sat look sweet enough for Newk , but whoa baby 8+ metres Ted you gotta take the camera for the room here , once in a lifetime shots maybe
did notice the wind tho yes
looks like the buoys down south are already registering the swell......its on its way! I worked late tonight and will start extra early tom so I can be free Wednesday.....camera already on the charge.
No report from Ted yet , wind looks like a bastard 26kn southerly ,hope he didn't get smashed & found a covered spot , shame about that wind
Something like this maybe
^^^
swells not here yet Pup only 2-3 ft on the open beaches at the moment, the fun will start tonight. Wind is a good 30 plus knots offshore which is keeping it out to sea.
Getting in early before the swell hits, strained medial lig yesterday in 2 foot surf.
Big girl I am.
As for the Pup's advice to use liniment on it.....All I can suggest is if you try this method
WASH your hands before scratching nuts ...........................****
Coolangatta / Gold Coast surf reports have been favourable of late... looks like some winter fun up there. You guys been getting amongst it?
Last week was pumping for the bulk of the week in Torquay... even though I was/am some distance away in Japan.
Surf report from here... It's been onshore most days.
Just got home and been down the beach for a quick look. As SP says it has not hit yet...a nice 3 ft at the two beachies I checked.....sadly I was too late for a sample. The wind is a howling offshore but the scene is set. There was hardly a bod in the water - counted 1 surfer and 3 boogies across 5 breaks. I just pumped 24 hrs of work out in the last 2 days to free me for tom. Fingers crossed things go according to plan. Here are a couple of snaps I took as I drove by
update.......the southerly has just kicked in......wind is now gusting at 98km an for or 53 knots in the old terms.....its hammering into our deck! The lights have already started to blink - could be a long night!
With the big tide due I took some beach shots today so tom I maybe be able to show you just how much sand has been lost!
^^^^i wish i was down there with you ted,i love storms. the girl hates them. tuck in early tonight, burn the candle and make music take care says the serious side of me
just saw a unit in the bra get smashed on the news crazy wild, hope all you guys survived and enjoyed mother natures fury
its a washing machine out on the open coast. Its not as big as I thought it might get earlier in the week as the front has stayed far too close to the coast sadly. Oh well we do have some longer period stuff due in the next few days.
The other side of the headland had a couple of options.....the left coming in though looked hideous with all the water moving off the new rock wall which would have mad the paddle a miserable experience although there were a few tasty ones coming in.
3 boogies braved the first light conditions at the Rockpool and were getting a few rides although with the tide it was breaking right on the rocks from takeoff. I shall check this later in the day for any improvements although I do not hold out much hope!
