Just checked Coolum before dark and it was only 1 foot at best Hope we see some of it up this way.
Also have the Winter longboard classic on this weekend up at Alex heads. Will get some shots and footage to share over the weekend.

Classic SP - I watched them bury a whale at Merewether once - right in front of AJ's old house.

I just figured out who you meant by AJ, Bit of a tard moment from me..
But that's tinklers rental property now, he bought it lived in it for a while then bought 2 adjoining blocks up behind Dixon park surf club and built his castle up there.

That was the whale I thought it was, but the news is saying its at the cliff, haven't had time for a look yet. did you live in Newcastle when they buried that one? We weren't happy about it, we surfed straight in front of where they buried it.

Did you see the story on the bloke who got hassled by a GW of redhead the other day.

Here's the link... Hope it's a south bound heading shark and not north

Nice shots there Big Spaz - thanks for sharing. If I did not have a big meeting today at 1pm I would have been keen to come up for an early long weekend and play in those. Looks insane. The boss goes away next week for a month and because CMC is away it will be pumping - so I am going to do a mercy run if conditions look good. The surfs we had a PP reminded me of why I love surfing big long right hand points.......ahhhhhh I want one in the back yard!

That story is nuts! Would scare the farrrrrk out of me. Yeah I was living there when they buried that one just south of the Dixon St. surfclub - probaby got some photos of it somewhere. I used to live in Janet Street, Merewether for 9mths.....loved it. Great place. I see you also lived in Manly for a while - same. Jeepers - have you been following me round?

Redhead was my local growing up and up till about 8 years ago. After the surfer getting bitten there earlier this year and now this it seems the sharks are getting a bit keen around there.

I wish I'd been following you, every time someone asks for travel advice you answer
Maybe you're profile should be Ted the Gypsy.

But yeah where they buried it was where we surfed when I was younger, spent many a wasted hour there

And Redhead does seem to have a bit of shark activity, not sure why but the number of sighting around here have gone through the roof this year. During summer I think it was the warm currents being in close and now I guess it's the whales but there just seem to be more around.

Dude, I just posted that at the same time, looks weird to me, direction of the wave etc but I don't know I'm kinda leaning towards legit but if it was that's a long way up the harbour to have waves.
