Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate
The M8
the M8 is a high performance mid length 8'0"x 22"x 2 5/8" suited to small to medium surf,
square, diamond or as shown here...my classic flash point pintail...the M8 is a great all rounder,
the M8 is quad and it turns beautifully, slight concave to slight V flattening out through the tail,
true blue design....the M8 will be your best mate.....high performance bottom rocker...over 40 years of dabbling with curves and contours have culminated to this tried and proven bottom rocker
Thank fark its Friday Ladies & Gentlefrothers
Looks allright.
Too much of a pintail for smaller waves for my tastes.
Now this....this is a rocket. As soon as the wave stands up a little and starts to hollow out it is onnnnn!
Deepish double concaves make all the difference.

Sweet....I took some pics today as well in the glassing bay....and one big beast for a vicco big wave charger that I would love to see being surfed
Geez champion I would love to see more of the 3rd one down >>>> that lovely blue one .... niiiice
PS ...... Hi there Steve Del
I really like the tail on that Goddard board and the colours look nice too along with the pics. Not to be out done some nice CW's as well. Keep em coming
Sound like a bunch of chicks talking about shoes!
Lovely colours and all!
The thing I like about that plain Jane Vquad I posted pics of is it double concaves.
Had a bit of a revelation about why its working so well.
I used to have a Webber Mini fish with deep double concaves. But it also had plenty of curve in the planshape to help it turn.
In hollow waves it would accelerate like a rocket but run it into a flat section and it would slow right down.
Confusing.
Since then I've ridden Firewire sweet potato and a Firewire baked potato which both have deep doubles. The sweet potato with its straighter rails keeps planing over flat sections a lot better than than the baked potato with its more pulled in nose and tail.
Now to the Vquad with it's length at 7'6" it planes across flat sections well enough as long as you find a trim spot.
Looks like the longer, straighter rail line helps.
Once the wave develops some steepness or hollows out the double concaves really feel good underfoot.
It's a bit of a shame most mid lengths end up with innocuous bottom contours that can really let the board feel more exciting to surf and give them an extra gear.
Sound like a bunch of chicks talking about shoes!
Lovely colours and all!
For arts sake
Nice board Pup! You didn't get another one did you!? Or are you just posting the pics?
True Blue Aussie Board!
(nice fins too! Even though they are yankee designed!)

bravo to you sir. imo your less than midlength is caught in no mans land. i would keep the sweet for small rippable fun...then buy a long board to trim. for a peep that has owned so many boards and quick to point out peoples so called faults in board choice, well i wonder if you are self medicating atm. a 7 footer wont trim as good as a long board, nor will it turn like a sweet, plus your explanation on big double concs on that 7 seems wasted between the other options. but hey,who am i to voice a opinion....considering all the next boards you say are the ****...you my friend are confused

LOL well I have a fetish for blue tint.....& I like some deep double concave like those boards have. I had a firewire hellfire that went great in all kinds of conditions apart from being a bit stiff for bigger WA bumpier rides.....with your vquad, you could just wack on an extra foot & a 1/2 & you'll plane across those flat sections no worries
Bloody hell there is some opinionated grumpy pricks on here at times.
You know what, your opinions are just that your opinions. Doesn't make em right.
Hope you all get a wave in the morning. 4' of wind blown south east swell out front at the moment.
Could be good in the morning.

For someone who talks about opinions and grumpy opinions....well you have a lot of opinions about opinions
How should one voice a opinion that does agree with someone's opinion without agreeing with a opinion that is not your opinion. Sometimes people do not agree, hence we all have an opinion....to be quiet and say nothing is not right if you do not agree.....that is just arse kissing and then your opinion does not count

Actually I'm not confused.
I simply had an ephiphany about the characteristics of the deep double concave bottom on different boards I had ridden. Which just so happens to be on a few but with differing planshapes which also influenced how the deep double rode underfoot.
Now riding a deep double in a longer board than the mini fish, sweet and baked potato I was musing about the differences inbetween them but alas didn't express myself all that well. So I'll leave it at that.
I can also see that's its a pointless exercise as discussion of boards is often skewed somewhat towards resin tints and brand recognition.

Well that is a sly gutless way of bagging people because you think you have superior board knowledge without actually providing any. Your tech talk just went in circles and made no sense. Instead of explaining your thoughts, you just expressed that it is not worth it as all we care about is pretty stuff. Yet in reality you had nothing to contribute as why your boards are better,I did say why they were a fail, yet you just threw down some gobbledygook and tried to sound technical.
On the brand issue, well you are the most pathetic pimp going, you just go from brand to brand and praising whatever you are riding as the New best thing. And there has been a few, whether it has been on here or realsurf,oh I do realise that you do get butthurt if crew do not agree with your superior knowledge hahaha

Stoked about different boards and their ride characteristics is hardly pimping as I have no gain in giving my honest opinions about boards I choose to ride.
Not in the slightest bit interested in a pointless slanging match with an argumentative internet opponent such as yourself.

thats funny considering how you like to bully people on realsurf a lot. Mine was a opinion, not a slanging match. it is you who does it in a underhanded and sly way. but hey thats how you roll

Cool ...had plenty of familiar faces around me this morning, I prefer it that way these days.
I like my Astro Longboard and I like a board my buddy Peter Craig shaped for me, no idea about the concave or rail shape or glassing weight or anything. Bottom line, go out and surf people. OR go out and go over the nose about ten times a session as I usually do!!!
Yeewwwwww!! Group hug!
