The thing that impresses me about the DT boards is the thickness he puts in the nose. At least the In the Pink models. I don't know why others scrimp in this area, okay, it may look a bit more racy to have a thinnish nose, but is it really any functional advantage on a mal?

Congrats on the 10' RA BB, it's probably the board I should have bought rather than the Randy French 10' Miske Model. Mine is probably a bit too loose for someone of my limited ability.

If I ever manage to get to Arra with it, I would like you to have a wave or two on it to give me an opinion.

That would be awesome mate. If there was ever a place to test a tenner then Arra is definately it. The main reason I grabbed the RA was for that particular spot - now I have an excuse to get down there more often That, and the fact I may not have anywhere to live soon

Don't worry about it BB, my missus had my balls removed years ago and keeps them in a jar of formaldehyde beside her bed

Once my scrote healed up, I didn't miss em one little bit.

I think i reconize the brand new sweet yellow Miller ( LG )

Gunna christen the RA on tuesday morning so lets hope my bank is at least a little bit on. Oh yeah - just in case it ticks all the boxes, who wants a cheap Dino 9.4 tuflite ?

Its sure gunna be a shock to the system being on a big single. Gotta start thinking about it again and not just surfin like I have ADHD. Whos up for a dawny on Tuesday ?

I thought they were a single but this pic from the web site indicates that they have side bites.

http://www.surftech.com/boardDetails.php?bid=SURFBDS+%3A+L1230-1000-RA&type=SURFBDS&shaper=Robert+August

They possibly just use the one pic for all 3 sizes.

Whenever I see anyone on a "what I ride" I'm usually impressed by their speed across the face, so maybe your ADHD problem will come in handy for some fast and furious trimming.

Hey mate - finally had some good waves on the beast and it really is a superb board. Managed to not nose-dive any today and had a ball. What I really love about it, is its ability to stall and cutback and drop knee cutback with little or no effort. Its hard to believe but I reckon I can turn this big single harder than the dino thruster ! It is much more stable and predictable off the tail than the Dino but the Dino is a much better noserider which really doesnt bother me too much cos I aint really into that sorta thing and really aren't any good at it either. It feel really strange paddling the RA cos its so bloody flat and you are so aware of it all the time. This sounds really wanky but I really like sitting up out the back and running my hands along the rails behind me cos the 60/40 rail is so alien to me and it feels so nice and different and, well you know, its just nice to touch
The Dino is definately a better board for sitting tight in the pocket and really going hard off the bottom and attacking waves BUT this thing is beautiful to surf and has so much character. If I can learn to master the RA I reckon it will make me a way better surfer. It reminds me in some ways of a Redline but in honesty I reckon the RA is a better board than the redline cos its just that little bit more chuckaboutable (official new word) but it still has that redline glide and class feel about it. VERY VERY IMPRESSED.

Yep - lovin it.

My mate just put his entry in for woopi so thats him/me/you and obct to make up the killer team - man, they won't know what hit em

I was telling him about your home made mal and he's as keen as I am to take it for a spin. I am hoping to get the RA wired enough to surf that down there but could be in real trouble if we end up at mulla on a bigish day

Was gunna hang onto the dino for serious days but thinking about offloading it and just learning to ride the big beasty in all conditions - just gotta harden up I suppose.

What happened to you ?? we hung around but couldn't find you. Mac had to go and get his nails done so we went round the corner for breaky.

What a fantastic morning of surf hey did you see makaha in the purple steamer just paddling out as we went in. Looked like he was riding one of the new triple stringer redbacks.
