I knew he was crook but this has come as a shock to me. He was part of the furniture in the Channel nine commentary box. His loyalty to Kerry Packer gave him a job for life. I will miss his general commentary and his love tiffs with Bill Lawry.
Fark this is terrible news to come home to.....RIP you legend and thoughts to your family and friends on this very sad day. You will be missed.
stunned - remember Hooksey smashing him for those 5 fours in a row in the centenary test (just) ... remember he & Chappelli having the stoushes in WSC .... have a vague memory of him and Alan Knott smashing the batpoo out of us sometime too .... geez big loss to sport in general really
RIP Greigy
How many of you remember the key in the pitch diagnosis - trendsetter all rounder , Seth Efrican Pom captain .... wow big news
^^^what about when he dropped the key into a crack at the WACA and lost it. It always feels like a part of your youth being lost whenever someone of Greigy stature is farewelled. Will be greatly missed
Very sad, his commentary will be missed, it really sucks as you get older the legends pass on and the good old times drift of into the distance.
Hey just listened to Richie's eulogy ,,,,, geez raised the hair on the back your neck didn't it ????
I know "old man time" waits for no soul .... but geez
Edit: I guess Sydney is the prefect send off though given the bloke loved it so much
Yes Pup it was a touching send off thats for sure. If you missed it have a look at it here - after the betting ad of all things - you would think they would maybe let it out without an ad for something like this.
