just thinking about the morning. mac said lets have a cup of coffee before we go. i will drink coffee, but normally don't- more of a social thing for me. i ended up having 2 large cappuccinos as we chin wagged so i was a pretty wired then i hopped in the car.

when the table slid off i was on it instantly and swerved away. thinking that swerve might have given me the angle for the table hit the back rack/board instead off the front of the car. the table might have been a lower height at that stage had i driven straight a bit longer.

just thinking you know

Bloody hell LL

Ive had a small boat fly at a mate and I a few years ago, it was a lazer sailing dingy on a trailer and the bloke had forgotten to do the tiedowns. Boat got about 30-40 feet in the air right in front of us. This happened on the freeway @ 100kph

Glad you are ok LL, could have been alot worse

So are you thinking Lacey

That coffee with Mac saved your life and you owe mac yours
OR
that second cappuccino put you in the path of the table
OR
A coffee a day keeps the table away

I'm probably wrong, but i thought its a fine for not securing the load and causing an accident.

You are spot on. Just not securing a load correctly is a fine of $353 and 3 points - see Road Rules 2008 Rule 292 a-c. Causing an accident as well would no doubt lead to further rule breaks and hence fines n more demerit points perhaps.

I would recommend reporting the incident as a mate of mine had a car accident and did not report it - he was cursing along and a chick crossed lanes and drove into him. They exchanged details, she admitted liability so he went off to work and did not think about it. 4 hrs later he got a call from the Police station advising him to come down and make a statement as a woman had informed them that he had veered into her lane and caused an accident. Took him months to sort out.

Ive had two people crash into me 1 guy slammed up my arse and gave me a bogus name and address and phone number, the other was a classic.
i was sitting in our car outside the rialto building in Melbourne waiting for my wife when this cabbie hit the front of our car. so i grab a pen and paper get out of the car nice and calm start writing the rego No when i notice the car moving i run to the drivers door and said can i get your details mate when this guy says you have my No thats all i have to give you and plants it down the road.
Well the wife comes back from her job interview and i tell her the story, we then decide to go to our local cop shop and tell our story, the local cop rings the taxi company and speaks to the cabie, the cabbie told the cop i ran into him and i started to threaten him so he left.
so the cop tells me i should of seen the police in the city and its my story against his,
So now i dont move and i call the cops and tell them everything
