firstly a massive thanks to everyone and those donations have been a god sent. the supsa/ qld surfing insurance company arced up about paying, but they have not followed the law by providing a disclosure statement in the first place blah, blah, blah. i'm fighting it with FOS and peasy is going hard at them from his end.
the upshot is it will not be settled for a while so again the donates are priceless.
i'm on to the 8 th week since now. seems like yesterday and at the same time so long ago. progressing along really nicely -walking, running and some light paddling . i can only 80% max hr from now on, well most of the time anyway. i'm surprised they let me run. i tell you running is so much easier to do now- really scares me thinking about what i was putting my self through running pre HA. if you have any pains or doubts when doing something get it checked out
probably 3 weeks away from easing into paddle training, but i think i,m might be able to hit small lm in two weeks.
maybe
because of my financial position i will have to go back to work in at the start of February instead the end of it. while i'll have to be careful, my rate of recovery is stepping up every week so hopefully i'll be fine.
i just thought i would give a update to those that donated and the well wishers and a chance to say thankyou.

bless you motley lot
Yeeeeeeew I'm so stoked for ya mate. Still a long road to travel...yet at least you have the privilege to do it....
The family just had to go the other way to say goodbye to our friends 18yo grandson...another reason why I smile when I wake everyday day
Well said LL.
I'm sure you have gone through the "what ifs" over the past 2 months.
Stoked you're on the mend.
I miss the BBQ shots.

one thing that stands out to me- it does matter if your rich or poor, your only as good as your heath. you can be fine one day , next day fighting for your life.
sobering, but so uplifting too - smile i did chrispy
Good to here your going well LL .
And it's great for all of us to here your thoughts and talk to people like yourself who have had near death experiences.
As it makes us realise every hour of every day is precious , no matter how ordinary .
Pleased for ya LL . Enjoy !
At the rate your going LL ,100% is just around the corner , then you can get on a bender with me and chrispy

Jackson Close today behind the rock at snapper sorry for the out of focus shot with paddle in hand,Lacey in a few weeks.
gee mac, that's pretty hot stuff from jackson.
mate my days of cranking surf is over. take a few on the head and the old hr would be through the roof.
i sound like a busted up old long boarder now- guess i fit right in.
i think i'll just go and have a quick cry now
Good work Lacey, not knowing what's around the corner, it certainly pays to keep in good shape as I guess your fitness level has enabled you to "spring" back relatively quickly considering the seriousness of what happened to you....
The Shape I'm in... great choice of theme song LL:
. . . I'm gonna go down by the wa - ter
But I ain't gonna jump in, no, no
I'll just be looking for my mak - er
And I hear that that's where she's been? Oh!
Out of nine lives, I spent seven
Now, how in the world do you get to Heaven
Oh, you don't know the shape I'm in. . .
Why do people say its life changing, if you need to change your life, you were basically doing and thinking the wrong things anyway. I met a guy who had a heart attack and he said you see and do things differently after you've been confronted with death hey weiry. I said no f***n way because I've always lived it to the max and I give respect to people that deserve it and I've always told people I love them if they are important to me .he just gave me a stupid look,

Yep agree... Live every day as if it would be your last. Love hard, do the things you'd love to do and treat everyone how you'd like them to treat you.

What i ment to say was, its life changing when you realise the true priorities in life. Not money, or power, but thing like friendship, family, your health
Life changing as you never look back

i'm giving you a stupid look too,but i like your outlook.
it's something i was talking about to a really nice lady that did some work for late last year. she rang up today. she has had her illness near death experience. the stuff she was saying i connected with instantly.
you see things differently- its got nothing to do with doing things wrong before hand.
loving and respecting people you like is easy weiry. its the people you don't like
really hard to explain

i would like that LL, it was nice catching up with mac, believe it or not, but he spoke very highly of you.
Like your style Mr Lane . . .
'Anytime you're inspired, your life really works well,' Wayne Lynch, post heart attack.
He makes some good points about how it affected his outlook/philosophy on life, here:
mr wavelenght, after watching that i'm a incredibly lucky man.
ps i don't want to come across all serious, still like a good laugh, i still like bagging mac at every opportunity
so true
I learnt that a long time ago - what took you so long LL?
