something different, possibly exciting. Show us where you do most of your time reading and replying on the breeze.

Be cool to see some peoples offices/ workspace areas.

for me this is my place of work at the university, please excuse the screen overkill

Nice looking set-up there Spazz - you IT types always get the nice furniture....at my Uni I have avoided the open plan office for now but still have a view from the 8th floor. However my office furniture needs some Biku inspiration.....

As someone who works for an office fit out company, open plan offices are the way forward. Private offices are old hat these days....

Offices full stop are old hat.

I went and spoke to the DBA and MBA program professors at SCU and even they agree that the %age of people working remote is growing quickly.

If you're just gonna email and skype people all day anyway it doesnt matter where you are. The only barrier to truly global online trade are time zones.........

our new Gold Cost building(next to airpot) due for completion in a month will be all the open plan open space stuff, saw alot of pictures of it think the commonwealth bank and how they do it and it looks pretty amazing, only prob is u need to buy everyone laptops or tablets as they say tablets will out sell computers this yr.

the other restriction is internet speeds and for alot of jobs, especially in I.T internet speeds over WIFI just aren't good enough

Nice outlook CMC - when I get home I will send you my view from the home office. I am lucky in that I work from home 2 to 3 days a week - its been engineered that way and has taken a few years to pull off. As soon as I can get it down to 5 days a week I am moving more remote!!

Big Spazz - I am at Macquarie Uni in Sydney.

I spent yrs working in large open planned digs and it had a lot of merit depending on yr role. These days I need the peace and quiet to do my work...I also spend lots of time on skype and would annoy other people in an open environment. It also nice to be able to shut the door and have a quiet conversation.

I miss parts of the open plan office - especially the social side of the equation - but love having a door I can close. Each to their own

Open plan offices suck balls, give me a door with a lock.. How else do I keep the people I work with away from me.... I spend a lot of time on the phone and open plan just doesn't work too noisy.

Love the 5 plus screens Spazz... and Scotty, I know you post a lot on the ****ter, we can do without a photo...

Lots of big companies are going to hot desks, you come into work in the morning, sign in and you are assigned a desk, you plug in your laptop and away you go. Then you can get away for everyone having a desk. They say at any given time 30% of workers are away from the office.

Where does the golden rule of all time; thou shalt not cough back through the bong forcing water through the stem and shooting a smouldering cone through the air..... Someone told me that happens some times.

My meals are bought to me by "Hugh".

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to tell who I'm referring to when I give you that semi cryptic clue "Hugh".

Any by the way, this toilet will self destruct in 5 seconds
