Buy the dion, they are well made and well priced...

The FCS ones are fine 2 but I'd go the dion over the FCS.

I may have some sidebites, I'll have a look and see.

Thanks SP but im sorted. 20 dollar pair shipped to my door.

McHenry, I'm drinking Coopers while wearing my RM Williams at the Strathmore Pub on North Terrace, CBD Adelaide. Very patriotic to South Aus!

Never heard them being called 'imperials' before. Must have had one of those wanky Adelaide bar tenders- quite a few of them around. Next time your in SA, we will do the Adelaide pub crawl. You around Saturday, Im going surfing(paddling) and you should come along!

Just stumbled upon this because of Ted the Kiwi, these are some very reasonably priced fins.

Seems to be about half of what all other manufacturers are. Like you said Lacey and I agree with you - a fin is a fin. I just like reassurance from the experts.

You've probably taken the 2 +1 to far for this comment but as a consideration.....
Single fins I love.
Check out the the "Salty Merchants" fins, I've started using his a 11" green'o fin with a flexie tip my 9'er is a new board.

This set up works really good on my 9"1 EVO II on 3-5' waves. The DVS quad fins as side bites give heaps of drive with 7" centre a bit forward for looseness. Carving/drive off the tail is great.

For smaller than 3', I put in the small stock McT side bites shown in Mac's photo on page 1, with centre fin back slightly.

I'm getting a 7' Dion retro fin and purchased some rip off side bites, that should do the trick. Got the lot for 70 bucks shipped to my door.

Probably got the wrong forum for this one but here we go anyway

For those of you with longboards and longboard style 666 boards ( must be a couple of you hiding out there ) do you use the same size fins in both .

My longboard 666 has a 9 inch centre with 4 inch side bites , goes pretty good . Wondering if I go same as my longboards with 7 inch centers and 4 inch side bites will performance improve , or am I waisting my time , not to mention money , considering the 666 already has extra turning power in the paddle and is a deeper and wider board .

My wifes cousin is the ripcurl rep. He was telling me there heated steamers are a game changer. He was telling me he was surfing at bells for 5 days in a 4/3, booties, hood and was lasting about 2 hours. he then used a 2mm heated steamer no booties, hood and said he was hot. I think its worth the dosh.

Totally different fin set up Tassie',for starters look at the rocks and a massive difference in the thickness of the rails, you also have a paddle to aid balance and turns.

Thinking along the same lines Mac .

Never never know if you never ever go so am going to try a 7 inch cutaway fin , might grab a Gerry Lopez SUP thruster fin set to try as well . Thinking if I don't like the 7 inch in the SUP can throw it onto one of the longboards .

Have my short board type SUP setup with quads FCS G5s on the rear and FCS G am on the fronts .
Really like the way it goes .

Mate I'm no expert on anything but as I said two different fin set ups,666 have big rails which plays apart in this. Lacey mentioned us longboarders are over finned comparing 666 to longboards, every surf 666 I've seen run smaller fins than us longboarders,Lacey would be the guy to comment and get sound advice I'm only running with what I've seen over the years.
