p.s neither the involvement, noserider, noosa 66 are 1 dimensional boards, its the surfer that makes a board 1 dimensional

I think if you quoted the rest would make more sense. If you 60 kg and can surf well peeps make them look incredibly easy and fun to ride. The fact is they are not that easy to ride. I found on mine I could get to the noise easy enough then I was doomed if the wave changed and I had to adjust quickly. Yeh I could turn it.... Sorta kinda lol but it was a dog because I was not good enough to ride it. Whereas ppt me on a modern shaped board I can do the same with ease and more. So as Spazz said demo one and see how good you surf and how easy they are. Not called pigs for nothing.

all i can say is if anyone here is considering an invovlement, TRY A DEMO FIRST!!!. it amazing how many people walk in and go "yer invovlement i can ride that" buy it, take it out, bring it back 2 hours later and its on the second hand rack.

Spazz why is it that they do that, I mean for what reason. From your insider knowledge of these boards what is the difference to ride say the noserider vs noosa 66 vs involvement.

why is it that they do what? bring boards back? I see it all to often, some gentleman (most of them you can tell cant surf) come in see the involvement and are mesmerised by the board, i mean in the flesh these things are the sexiest boards i think ever. Combine that with a gorgeous tint and 99% people are sold. Looking at the board itself, compared to the noosa 66, you could prepare tonight's dinner with how sharp the rails are. Rolled bottoms are not the most easiest board to ride. For example, if you are on a steep faced wave, you have to stand on the inside of the stringer closer to the rail in the wave to hold your line because they dont lock in as good as a modern mal. And the nose, well its basically non exsistant, the nose is soooooo small. Have you ever watched an old surfing movie? you notice in them drop knee turns, these werent invented because they look good (like todays hipsters) they were invented to turn the ****ing board. Its the same with the massive jerk turns, where they throw there neck and shoulders almost out of place when turning, once again thats so they can turn the board. here is a great movie (hot generation) where you will see what im talking about, here is the trailer

another point, you didnt see any fat people in the 60's. There was no mcdonalds in aus, there was no leg rops, so if you went out when its big and u kooked it on a wave and lost ur board you had to swim ur ass to get the board back, i honesly think 80% of the human race isnt fit enough to ride old school logs like these, they cruise alot better than modern mals YES butttttt you have to paddle harder to get them going, push harder to turn, be stronger to carry the board and finally have coordination to walk them and noseride them

So a noosa when you compare it in the flesh to a invovlement will have much fatter, fuller, eggier rails that are way more forgiving to the involvement, they still have a pig shape but is wider in every way to the invovlement,

the noserider is just a tank, its fkn awesome pointbreak board. but dont think it will turn like a modern performance mal. Its wide and flat for optimal stability and has generally a hatchet style fin to steady the board when walking. In saying that, if your like me, you may get extra enjoyment by turning these type of boards because i find them much more rewarding because they are harder
