my old metal band was GOTE and another was LOWBROW
bit of a garage slap together crew
alot of good sweety memories...lol...
Im not too fussy about what I listen to as long its not doofdoof.
WHy do certain songs pop into ur head when they do? Cause man I hate it when the gayest song or add jingle harrasses my mind over and over.
Please make it stop!!!!!!!
^^^ maybe its cause you're gay...?
but yes, one line from a thirty second add jingle that gets stuck on a loop in your head over and over and over and over for the entire three hour session is enough to make you wanna stab a knitting needle through my temple...
but the best aussie music IMO is 'the fauves'
pete murray sucks dead leaper ass
This may sound old school, but I load songs without a real life story. That's why I was into the OIL's in the underground clubs before their first album was released [}:)] U2 in the early day's and Jack Johnson and Pete Murray sing about pretenses people who I load. mac
Don't know why the Sunnyboys immediately came to mind when I opened this thread. I don't even have their record. Just started humming Happy Man. I should go out and get that album again.
I call Jack Johnson and Pete Murray man bag music.
They are the sort of guys that sport "man bags" and their music is melancholy with a kind of whining in their lyrics. lol
^^^^thats whats so cool about them.....
been a fan for over fifteen years and still can't tell if they're taking the piss out of themselves or not
I've known of the Fauves for years, a friend of mine managed them around 15 years ago and got nowhere with them. Probably like all their other managers past and present.
I was reading their website last night - pretty funny stuff. When most bands would have thrown the towel in at the first sign of disappointment, the Fauves have somehow managed to keep going. It's like they have accepted, and celebrate the fact they are losers. I think the lead singer still lives with his mum and dad, probably never had steady income, he's now 40+ and talks openly about it.
Maybe after tonight they have two fans. Have you seen that movie about them Doc?
Kinda sad but I still listen to Tubeway Army (gary numan) and in particular "are friends electric" on a regular basis.
does anybody else actually remember gary numan ?
Am really getting into amy winehouse at the mo as well - what a tragic waste of talent she is.
So thats me - 2 types of music 30 years apart that really get me in the mood for a sesh.
I'm a big fan of Gary Numan, the poor mans David Bowie, and love Amy Winehouse. I've been really enjoying Regina Spektor - much more than a passing fad - I don't seem to tire from listening to her music.
Thought it was quite odd that the jjj top 100 of all time included not one female vocalist. What's with Jeff Buckley being in there 4 times?
sh+t I dont need to put on some obscure garage band that no-ones ever heard of in order to have a good surf??
However if in the need for pumping up Violent Femmes cant be beat
Offspring - Smash
or when I'm down south I listen to the radio and get the "Harvey norman busselton" jingle stuck in my head.
