Morning Lads - lets hope TB took his camera to the beach this morning as it looks like it will be pumping at his place

"The SW swell has become solid overnight. There's 6 ft+ at the Coast and Town beaches, with a freshening Westerly offshore wind. The wind is predicted to turn SW later but it might stay Westerly all day, as happened yesterday."

Water temp 15.2C ahhhhhhhhhh

And the report from the other mob

7:06am: Massive conditions this morning and it's semi-clean with 6-7ft of south swell hitting. The max wave height readings in the bay have reached 7m, so there are some monster freak sets hitting from time to time. It will most likely peak later this afternoon and we should see 10ft sets. The wind is blowing quite strong from the west, but it will swing SW soon and remain strong for the day. The swell will ease back a little tomorrow, but still remain very solid until Tuesday night and we will have offshores on Monday and Tuesday - there will be some pumping conditions on offer.

nice shots TB - its a shame that there is not a bit more north in the wind - with the low tide the Island could have been on! If i was you I would be taking myself on a 45min drive south to the pennisular and checking out Tracks if its big enough or if you are feeling like a hell man Rolling Stones or Annihilation. I love those spots. Big c lean south swell and a westerly wind should set off that whole area.....you might even find yourself some nice ones at Last Chance or all of those reefs around the Spit might be getting enough swell in. Go for a drive for me please And then when you have finished stop in at the hot pools at Nuhaka to thraw out! Next time I am over in NZ I shall be making sure I visit there - you can bring Gizzie down!

Those spots by Mahunga would be nice and almost offshore in a SW surely? Just head a little east from there A coast run north tom could pay some big dividends though so I like your style. Keep us posted please

The serge in our harbour is that great it's taken the wall out between the harbour and the river

The serge at the boat ramp is going in and out about 40ft
