Cool. Only problem is the rear end drawer... That's where the engine goes!
When I'm 65, this will be my car, and it will be electric!
Which brings me back to Electric Push Bikes... They are the future... Japan is really embracing them. They are tight on space, and the electric push bike for mum and the toddler, through to 7-9 year old kid... well that is like the 2nd car... Perfect to getting to school which is usually only 3-12 blocks away.
^^^^they should be using their bloody legs. electric treadly pfffttt. are they wearing lycra on these bikes as well grom man?
oh the camper is sick sp
Don't start me on VW vans I was have an overdue mid life crises a couple of months age and was looking at getting a transporter wtf they are worth more than my current wagon
It looks like it could fly. I can vouch for the reliability of VW's. I've had mine since 97 and regularly serviced and it seems to go better and f&ck all rust considering my works car park is not even 50 meters from the ocean.
Wanted to buy an old 70 s VW combi recently red on the top half blue on bottom half, for a weekend muck around vehicle .
The wife and the kids reckoned if I got it they were not going to get in the car with me so gave it a miss . In hind sight should have grabbed it
Mines a 97 model Tassie so its hardly one of those vintage models but a good bus all the same.
Some of the old ones have got some unbelievable prices on them.
My old GF and her 2 hot GF's were crusing through europe in their VW and just outside of Monaco at 8pm they had an incident in their VW kombi and it broke down - 3 hot chicks with nothing but a tough evening in front of them.....a vw went past, then another and another then another and then one stopped - then another one stopped - 2 blokes came up and asked them what the trouble was - turned out the clutch cable ( or similar - my memory is a little shady these days) had broken....anyway these blokes were at a VW convention just outside Monaco and within about 10 mins had decided that the chicks were coming with them as they did not not have tools with them (yeah right) and towed them back to the campsite where there were over 200 kombis.....the girls stayed there 4 days and had an absolute ball (well At least 2 of them) and drove out with a vehicle that had been fully done over by the lads trying to impress the chicks.....yep the good blokes had given the car an extensive service and tune up and tried their best to get some action. Being good kiwi girls they were good sports (2 of them only I hoped) and everyone was a winner. I met the chicks in Venice and spent 4 lovely weeks cruising through Italy getting fat. Everyone was a winner.
They sure are fashionable at the moment except for with the kids .
I experienced the same thing about 15 years ago we decided to grab an xy falcon GTHO . By the time we found a nice one they were all the rage and the prices were out of control . Have seen some great restored falcons . My brother in law collects old XU1 toranas they fly but gees they are rough .
^^^^
Yep - thats what top notch restos of Veedubya Kombis are fetching - it'll go higher just like the old Phase 1-3 falcons
A reversed coloring of the top one is the one I was checking out , very nice .
Ted I never realized their were such good lerks to being a VW mechanic .
Being mechanics they should have known where to apply lubrication . And what knobs to push And pull .An added bonus for your kiwi friends .
They are still out there to find. Here is a before and after of one I found a couple of years ago but have since moved on.
Body was good apart from under the window seals. Engine and trans blowen but I can do them myself. Its an expensive time consuming job.
Once you have one others tend to find you and they don't make em any more.
Deano
Nice work there Deano - you might need to beef up the suspension and brakes with that piece of machinery underneath!
Sidewinder exhaust- nice. Is CC is your new donk?
Pic of my 65 split. Not the most practical Windsurfing Van around but very cool.
