Good to see you back doggie,

Yeah, I'm thinking it isn't legit, just looks weird the direction it is breaking and that is a long way up the harbour, I used to work near there and very surprised there were waves there but how stoked would you be to have scored that once in a lifetime surf spot.

Ive seen a couple of pics of waves in the harbour with big swell.
Tracks did a cover shot of the Oprea House late 80s but I think it was fake.

**** i justed posted on this in the other thread. swell cannot come from the pier side. it would be a massive backwash if it did, swell could not wrap aroubd there. doggie is right, there is a spot just around the corner from there that breaks

Yeah, that place isn't a secret anymoreChrispy. Heaps crowded when it breaks now, I saw some photos of it somewhere yesterday. But yeah the direction is just weird, I couldn't see it breaking there.

Also there was waves in Pittwater, Saw Matt chojnacki and Ellis Ericsson surfing at balmoral on the news, hopefully they put a clip up on Mact or Deus website.

That's the Farm Cove side of the opera house, that's where a sandstone pier structure called the Man O War steps is located.

I'll admit I've not been down there to see it in a year or two, and I'll admit that I don't pay a great deal of attention to it while I'm there, but I don't ever recall it looking like a rock slab.

It's more like precision cut sandstone blocks.

yep obct you are on the money - its a massive stitch up. Loads of waves in the harbour from the rocks in front Middle harbour (nice left), the Fairlight Pool, Balmoral and the favourite that the easties all head for is Nielsen Park.

nice hoax though - I am sure it got a few people......

Thanks Doggie. I was going to say that the water is too deep through there... No rocky shoreline, let alone a shallow shore that would generate waves.

Good effort though!

Those swells are Hoax Swells sometimes! Swell is too big and too stormy for most places to handle it....

Great editing and would fool anybody not from Sydney. Just check out google maps and work out your bearings and it's obvious swell can't come from Balmain.
