What's your top 3 beers ?
Edit: Mine is Corona, Asahi & Bintang (no particular order)
Scotty's tip: Place 2 beer glasses in the freezer and rinse and rotate with each beer.
1. Peroni.
2. Becks.
3. Corona (must be drunk with a sliver of lime only).
4. Heineken.
A usefull tip for connoisseurs. If it has screw top, it is not worth drinking!

1. Tooheys New for when volume is required. And to answer yr earlier question Scotty the cans do taste better as they are always fresh. I switched to cans a few yrs back after being continually annoyed when finding badly capped bottles that were half flat. Cans are extremely reliable !!! I can do a session on the Extra Drys like Chrispy if required and also James Boaggs Drafts
2. Little Creatures, Any of the Japs beers that Simondo likes, James Squire, Cascade, Boags Premium, Peroni, Coopers Green, for those sessions where no more than 4 or 5 will be swallowed
3. After that I am fairly relaxed but the beers I do not like are (and in no particular order - forgive me if I miss a few ) Fosters, Fosters Bitter, Carlton, Carlton cold, XXXX - well you get the drift.
Beer I miss the most is Macs Summer Ale. I have a strict beer rotation policy - 2 in the freezer to start and every time I need a new one I take one from the freezer and replace with another from the fridge.....I find this keeps things right on the edge......alternatively I love how an esky can get them to a perfect temp. If we have a bunch of people coming over I like to bring out the 88 litre Icemate Esky from the shed and put in bag of ice on the bottom then load all of my beers in and put another bag on top and leave for 60 mins minimum. I leave the other bag intact until the crew arrive, put theirs on top and empty the last bag - after taking a few of mine from the bottom for easy access. Perfection

Adding to your esky prep,
1. Add 3 blue plastic freezer blocks on the base of esky.
2. Layer of ice.
3. layer of beers
4. Layer of ice.
5. Layer of beers
6. Final layer of ice.
7. 3 blue plastic freezer packs on top.
You can't rely solely on the ice.
The key is the freezer packs.

Scotty did you ever watch that show Myth Busters when they did an experiment to work out the fastest and most efficient way to cool beer from when its warm to when its cold? Basically if you are starting from a poor position like that you need to mix some water in the with the ice to ensure the coldness gets in and around as much of the surface area of the bottles / cans as possible. Whilst this might be the best idea for instant cooling to my way of thinking it significantly reduces the length of time you can keep the beer cold as the ice melts away faster - and this is normally of more concern to me. Happy to wait an extra 5 mins for an ice cold one
Ted, I used to put in 10 % of capacity of esky of water in (e.g. 6 litres to a 60 litre esky) with the ice and it seems to work well for a certain period but then tended to go with just the ice with freezer packs. It used to be like Antartica to dive down deep for the last few.
Trust me on the blue plastic freezer packs as they make a difference. See how long it takes the ice to melt. I've had ice stuck around the packs 3 days after a drink.
I hear ya. When we go camping I freeze 4 or 5 2 litre ice cream containers and that helps me keep my ice for 4 days sometimes more. Although often I re-fill after 3 just because I can Actually its because the chickybabe likes to put food in my beer esky !!!

Home brew or nothing.....at the moment its nothing because my keg fridge blew a motor and I am in training for a marathon...if I have to buy beers I'll usually go for Coopers Sparkling
Any beer brewed and bottled under the Reinheitsgebot beer purity law.
All you blokes who mentioned Peroni, Heineken, Becks etc, beware. In MOST cases, it is now what it seems. It is "badge engineered" or brewed under license or supervision somewhere in Australia, even though they tell you it's premium imported beer. And you CAN tell the difference. Mostly it's either Lion Nathan, or one of the other big breweries who are making it and it's just not as good as the proper imported beers.
Try a Budvar from Czech, or Oettinger, Steigl from Austria. Plenty of others if you look, but check the label for where it's really I brewed if you want the real thing.
