Nah- lfish and I hit the water about 6.30 and obct a little while later... Surfed the point which was pretty small at maybe 2ft and a bit better on the sets but it was really clean and loadsa fun. Think lfish and I got about 15 or so waves each then headed for breaky. Just heard that obct had been seen paddling out for his second sesh already on the town beachy - he is frothin !
the swell has dropped here 2 to 3ft at LM today so hopefully it doesn't pick up too much for the comp,i suppose Dino is in his element down there good luck for some cruisy waves boys.We want pics.
just a close out at main beach but at least I got a couple, we're all having a nanna nap now and waiting for BB to text us the arvo report from arra before we decide to go up there for a sesh.
Sorry mac, I don't know where I put the bloody camera and I'm too busy to look for it.
Asea - the dino will be in its element 2moro on the beachy I reckon cos its growing hourly !! A certain sydneysider who shall remain nameless pretty much hogged all the waves this morning on a bloody 10.6 Munoz - lets just say he looks more intimidating on a mal than he did over his banana bread at lunch
Just outta the water after sesh 2 for today (3 for obct). Really nice clean little peelers and some very long rides. Obct was good enough to lend me his 10' Miske and I had a blast. Great board and even managed to kinda snake the lovely man who lent it to me Boy am I gunna pay for that Tom arrived mid arvo and he's still out surfing with Gleavey (reckons he's gunna teach him some moves )
What a great day.
I'm luv'n this, me a Lfish had a good feed of fish & chips before we headed up to the Amble Inn for a chat and a drink with the others.
Now were back and completely buggered from surf'n (as indeed we should be), it's raining but there's something kind of comforting to be in a dry tent hearing the rain outside and the ocean nearby.
I think I'll be getting a good nights sleep, gotta be at Arra at 6.30 tomorrow.
Goodnight.
Just home from the official comp' draw. I am in the first heat in the morning at 0700 and bugger me, Tom is judging my heat so that has cost me several bourbons already Lfish didn't get his entry in on time so he didn't get a place so I have given up my open mens spot for him so he can fight it out with the young guns on my behalf. I think he will be the oldest dude in the heat by about 40yrs - gunna be awesome to watch him take the kids apart
BB as in the Tom I met a few weeks agoIf its the same same your soo going to get under scored as mates do
Sounds like a great event guy's,remember if you cant win the game win the fight (sorry old footy coach )
Keep us posted and where the bloody hell are THE PHOTO'S
conditions for the comp are dreadful, the club are doing their best but the easterly and the rain are a formidable opponent.
Here's a pic of BB doing his best to eliminate an opponent by running him over
go get'm bb and do the forum proud.
The woopi club have set it up well despite the hardships
Well obviously running over the opposition worked: I somehow made it to the semi this arvo in open mens and Tom in open mens (yep mac the same tom) also went through to the semis. looks like we may have bigger surf for the semis but a lot less water and a ship load of rocks to contend with. All good so far - except I can hardly lift my arms up from all the paddling.
P.S: I had better add - I bombed out in the o/45s earlier riding my own board but borrowed obct's 10' miske for the opens which is where I fluked a spot in the semi (thanks obct)
Hey obct, good photos thanks, stylin bb good luck today
be funny watching youse play bowls on that green...
Didn't get a wave today, went all the way down to coffs to find something and found nothing.
The comp at arra was about the only thing rideable and I wasn't about to go in there.
Hell it rained.
Lfish was kind enough to take some pics of me yesterday playing in the closeout beachy on main beach so I thought I better post one of those, if only to make mac happy.
Does this board make my bum look big
hey obct...bet the tent is not so dry now....that was just a little taste of some good old north coast rain
She was and still is as dry as a bone.
It helps a lot when you have the word Colman written on the side of it.
I know me camp'n gear that's for sure, wouldn't go so far as to call it pimp'n and I hate to be called camp but there was this one time at band camp when......oh never mind
Conditions were better at arra this morning and all the competition wankers had pissed off around the corner so it was just for us blokes that enjoy a wave.
i was going to go back there in the late arvo but my local mate told me that if I wanted to get wet again today, I had better do it real quick. So I went back 12.30 and managed to get another good sesh in before it was blown out.
God that's a big paddle, the last time my arms ached this much was after a Jenna Jameson movie marathon.
Last sesh with the boys this morning. Obct and I got some absolute gems all the way to the beach (about 150mtrs). A bit bumpy but nice size and as soon as obct and the local boys got out it glassed off completely so I had another hour out with the boys from Scotts head. What a great morning and a fantastic weekend had by all. Cant wait till next year to do it all again. And the best part of it all is that everyone has gone home and I have it all to myself for another 5days
