Just got a call from a friend in Lanno where a large shark was seen and about 30 guys scrambled in. I know one of the guys who saw it and he is a long time surfer and Lanno local. Also a confirmed sighting at Wedge. Fisherman have made a number of sightings during the week of a shark - sharks hanging off the back reefs.

Lano was reported as a 2.5 mtr great white today.

Ledge yesterday had a 4.5 mtr report.

One great tool IMHO and one id love to see get more use. The more report's that channel through the better. Better to know a shark is in the area before the event than after

we got waved in today surfing at old cobblies left, didn't even see the faarkin thing. A bloke on the beack was goin nuts to get our attention. stoked he was there. when we asked him what was goin on he pointed about 20m from where we were sitting in the lineup and there was a very large beast right there. then about 5 minutes later the crew at big rock cleared out to. pretty crazy. Hectic **. Ruined a good surf with only a couple in the water.

^^^^^ I think you were lucky it wasn't hungry soleman. At 20 metres away it would have known you were there.

There have been plenty of sightings this week North and South of Perth. I have a spot that should be firing tomorrow, unfortunately it's also the sharkiest spot I know!

What are you up to tomorrow Legion?

Yeah pretty wild ey, dunno even how long it was there, if it had just turned up at the time and was sussing us out or if it was there for a while. who knows?

Good to hear you're safe soleman. Unfortunately for us statistics show the more often you are in the water the greater the chance. I know that sounds obvious but it's not very comforting!

This poor old fella was on the beach at Wedge this morning, he wasn't there a week ago. Very solid animal too, was bigger than me.

nice hole where his flipper was! when we had our shack at wedge, years before the road, rarely saw a seal, never saw anything apart from dolphins and the odd hammerhead, used to surf between southrocks and bombing range by myself or with a couple of others, never an issue.

Not surfing, thanks to this thread. Nah I've been in the water a couple of times this week and I've got a bunch of fitting and welding lined up - only two weekends before we head away and as usual I've left lots to do.

With a cloaqua that looks like it had been well and truly belted by a footy team on an end of year trip and a heart as broken as that it must've been a rough night Mark.
And just quietly, you might want to have a wash, you were a bit on the ripe side.

I dunno, when I saw the whale that washed up at Hillarys a few years back, the shark bites in that looked like a surgeon had done it.

They do look a little ratty, but there are definitely some clean slices there!

Yeah it looked like it had been there a while Spocktek, maggots were well and truly into it on Friday.
What sort of state was it in on the 8th? Guess I was wrong about it not being there then as I would've driven straight past it on the Saturday morning.

It wasn't too bad on Sat, looked pretty fresh. The mrs was quite fascinated by it, It was funny (farm girl) but I'm a bit of a panzy when it comes to dead things so I payed my respects and traveled on.
It was hard to spot as there was a few lumps of weed around, The wifey pointed out to me, I would've driven straight past it.

He was a big boy ay, poor bastard.
