Picking up my board tomorrow and expecting its going to show a few scares so was thinking about letting the kids decorate it with some art work
Not sure whats involved so i thought id simply ask. Is it a pens or paints they use? Can i just paint it and leave it, or is there more to the finish i need to know about
And best of all, were can i get what i need

I drew on my board with an Artline Paint Marker
They're for outdoor use, UV proof etc. Had a few different sizes.
Did the drawings months and months ago and they're still there.

Posca pens get em on eBay or check out some sellers on google, I got some from Japan, can,t remember name but were half the price of shop prices. Very lightly sand the area u want to decorate then go for it. After u r happy with design you will need to seal it with some clear spray (Dave sells it) otherwise your "art" will rub off all over ya boardies and rashie and body and sh1t!!!
Spesh if you do design on deck

Cool, thanks for the advice. I found them on Ebay and will just work out what tip size. I was thinking a bit bigger like a medium to large tip (on the pen that is)..
Its really only going to be on the bottom and maybe rails as it was only creased. I'm not artistic at all and have no idea. I was thinking id just let the kids go crazy but looking at the above boards maybe i should try and take it more seriously. Yours look unreal Monkeyfish..

good to start on the old hunka to get a feel for the pens on f/glass, don't forget the sealer coat
a selection of pen sizes tips is great for contrasting effects and finer detail (thin tip), I generally use 5 and 8 mm tips

get Posca pens at Jacksons art supplies.
they are in balcatta, subi and a few other locations.
I've even now found the pens at Office works. (only on there site yet to actually try a shop)
The spray is a clear lacquer Brand im not sure yet.. But im assured Bunnings should carry it..
