Has anybody come across or know anybody who's owned a Firewire in the RapiFire construction where the deck has become discoloured ie. getting lighter in some areas and dark in others? Is this normal? If its not normal any idea what could be causing it. There are no cracks or dings in the deck so I'm ruling out water damage.

Thanks in advance.

Dan the wood effect has gone dark through the middle of the board and then light towards the last 3rd at the nose.

+1

Looks like a problem that they would be keen to fix. Mine delamed - but it was caused by a water leak that I knew nothing about - brought second hand and the hole was under the deck pad....nothing I could do sadly. I dried it out for 3 weeks after cutting out a massive area of the deck and replacing it with standard glass. Has worked a treat ever since.

Good luck - from my experience FW are a pleasure to deal with

Thanks for the advice Ted. Firewire confirmed that it sounds/looks like there been some water damage and told me to steer clear of buying it unless the price they were offering was unreal.

I'd also agree that the guys I spoke to at Firewire were really helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

Looks like a Hellfire? I just bought a 6'3" model but not Rapid fire construction. Yet to try it

Its a Spitfire JB. I was considering wither this or a 6'6 Hellfire. Let me know how you go, the tip you gave me on the Fat Bullet was great so trust your judgement

If you are considering owning it I would steer clear. Sure it might be ok but I would not take the risk. Glad to hear that you also had a pleasant experience with FW.

I have a 6'6 hellfire its the board I use the most, really fast gets up and goes which starts to work against you in any thing double head plus, paddles well only issue is I have had some hideous stacks nose diving at the bottom of any thing that gets a bit square at the bottom has provided a few laughs for the mates
