I propose we stage a GE challenge amongst ourselves. I love staring at google earth for hours looking for waves that maybe not many have come across. The winner gets an all expenses paid trip to their winning location*
The one rule is that the wave is not mentioned on wannasurf.com
Now go search!
*Winner must pay for the trip themselves.
I'll get it started:
Apparently discovered by an American pro/freesurfer in the last couple of years, no one surfs it cos you need a big swell for it to start breaking, otherwise it lays dormant and flat - You wouldn't know it was a world class wave if you walked by it at the wrong time, it probably looks like a great kiteboarding spot if anything. I did some searching cos I was obsessed with it, and I'm fairly certain this is the location...
alright, found a sick one but can't find the way to save the map as an image. anyone help me please?
Why do you think it is definitely indo? Here is some more of the same coast. Google has been updating photos. I checked out sand spit right hander, the new shot has it washed away
thanks kaz1983,
so heres a sick one i found in the Burrup....yep in Dampier.....there looks like a right straight across from it as well.......mmmm...cyclonic
Just found this little gem in PNG. Measured at 450m from takeoff to kick out. I'm not sure how often it's been surfed before, but just found it randomly browsing google earth:
Tanzania, a lot of other potential around this spot:
Somalia:
Blown away at how many potential surf spots there are out there
Not as perfect looking as the above... but here's a break in Porto Novo
Max ride length of the wave - 500 meters it says.
Nice!
I don't reeelly want to say where this one is ;) But it appears to be a more perfect, mirror image of the superbank. 2km of glory!
