There's been no waves in Perth this week so I'm posting some old pics so we can at least dream. ( Sorry if you've seen them before ).
Ok there has probably been better photo's of this wave posted but this was another one of those lago's that I remember so well from my time living there.
The question is who is in the photo? and it wasn't me (I took it) but I reckon one of you guys out there might be able to guess remember, yep photo was scanned and was taken somewhere between 95 -2000
Nah not Mitch, I thought someone might say that, I watched him rip that place apart several times though.
It was actually a kneelo that worked there when I was there, not 100% sure but I believe he posts on this forum from time to time.
Where are you ******.
I hear you about the left, poida and doggie, ya just gotta know when to pull out, but yep I got sucked into it many a time.
The right is great when it is not to big but when it really starts pumping I prefer the left, at least it's easier to get back out.
I was the token cripple from '04 through '07 so it's not me, think I know the guy you mean though. Mousey dreads? Pretty sure he used to work at the pub.
I reckon the right in question works best in a W-NW swell, runs down the reef better and doesn't shut down as much. Although I still prefer the the right in the background. Sick wave but fickle.
Have you ever seen the right in between the two in full flight? A rare beast that doesn't really wake up until about 8ft and then just doesn't stop.
One of my favourite haunts was further east of that pic, hard to get in to but such a good kneelo wave. And always empty.
I miss the rock. Lots
Good on you guys.
Most people I know who worked on the Rock got caught up in a vortex of drug taking and lost the passion to do anything before 11.00am !
Its actually one of the only lefts i ever liked. Big and long face on my old Bruce Montgomrey board.
Left is that good even a few boats have dropped in on it from time to time
this place gets pretty good too .....moving up the line up, using the longish paddle to advantage, to the $%$##$% sometimes helps. until you get a coupla good ones then the sheep move in
