Check out the "what's happening in the Goddard shed" in the longboard forum. We need a blog like this on building a shorty!

Took my Katana Quad for its first outing Sunday. I'm 50, no shredder, 6' '4", 85kg. Board is 6'6' x 21 x 2.5/8". Paddles nice, feels loose & fast. Very stable under foot. Stoked with it. Could have & might still drop to a 6'4" but need few more surfs to get used to the new one.

Deano, I hope I am still going like you at 50. Good on you for still riding a shortboard.
Katana you make some nice looking boards, I may have to check em out next time I am back in WA.

What's the black stuff around the rails of the Goddard in the photo???? Is it carbon? or paint, is he trying to hide the lap line? or is it just a crappy finish?

definately not a crappy finish, Mr Goddard boards area work of art .

if you mean the white and black one in the last photo..... this was from a later post about it.

the midlenght you mentioned is a new model I am working on called "all that jazz"...its interesting...8"2" quad...masterflex stingerless with continious rovings through the centre... the whole board flexes like a fishing rod

Another Goddard.

They are some nice boards, that's for sure.
So what up with the board in the first photo? Because it just doesn't look that good.

he will put one on my chin if i ask him to do that...
asked steve earlier if i can do it and, he said no problem.
i will do it from blank to finish for you guys.
i will also take some board porn to put up here as well.

if anyone else can get their shapers to do this as well would cool, as i am completely fascinated when they are getting made, and would also like to see what other shapes are there

Yep, the first one in this thread. The shape looks fun, just the finish seems a little rough.
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The board in the pic is my kids board . It's a great little board with a great finish same as my other Goddard board .

The " black stuff around the rails " is actually a dark maroon colour from the back half of the top deck overlapping onto the bottom of the board . Looks great in real life .
