I imagine he sells his shots.....pretty common these days although not normally as bold and large - when you buy them you get the name removed and a nice high res picture.
this is a photo worth paying for
I have never had anyone comment on the water mark before, but spot on Ted the Kiwi, maybe the water mark is too big, but I seen some shots where people have tried to photoshop it off.
I guess in this digital age no one prints photos anymore, just veiw it on the compuer or TV, so the res is not that critical.
I want people to see that its sharp and that with the high res version you can get that 20" x 30" poster print.
Nothing worse than getting that good shot and all you can print is a 6x4.
It's not that I make a living out of this (I wish), I enjoy it and if I can pay for the gear great. I just hope one day I can get a good shot of me surfing (barrel or wipeout), rather than walking up the beach, paddling onto a wave or standing amonst the white water after the wave is finished.
So if you see me on beach with a big lens, give a wave and go for that big barrel shot, no one will know if you don't make it, its the moment before that counts
Great pics, I hope one day I have the chance to get an awesome looking photo of myself while I am in the air pulling some casual-yet-cool pose just before I face plant it The camera man would only have like a 2 second window for that shot though before I look like picture #5

I have to agree the watermark ruins them. It is too big and bold. Gave me a headache looking at them and does not do your images justice.
