Got perhaps my best waves this year. And all solo. Thank the gods for beach closures.
But Zuke, I knew that was going to be the go. Damn you

Did the bolt south yesterday, a couple around.

Had a fun beachie yesterday arvo, one of the best banks I've seen there. Should think there will be some stellar footage from today from there.

Swell jumped quite a bit this morning, another Southern beachie had the odd nugget.

And a couple of reefs were showing some form too

Work this arvo was a bit of a stretch though....

Trigg very un-special. Weed is back through the middle car parks, and apart from the w/e crowd, there is some form of comp or clubbie activity being set up across the middle of 2nd car park.

30 people out at Mettams - again nothing special.

4 hours of smoking overhead kegs at a down south beachie for us. Started off very inco and a bit disorganised, and a fair few crew turned around and walked back. For what it was, it was pretty uncrowded.

What mm lens are you using on those shots smicko, they're looking pretty tight considering where I think you shot them from.

55-250mm Moohan, it may be that it's 18meg or something silly like that. Phone pics aren't the same anymore.

Had a good wave yesterday north of the big smoke, not very crowded considering the report. Only a couple of meat -heads out most of the crew were pretty cruisy taking turns and calling each other in.

The warm morning and offshore winds made the surf a nice way to start the day, hit the races and the casino afterwards for a bucks do.....feeling it now

The Katana epoxy is going great guns atm, loves the wave i have been surfing lately.

Yeah in clean waves it goes really well, a little different in choppy stuff but still not bad. Certainly a bloody quick board when you give it a stab.

Its 7'x 20"x 2 5/8, I'm about 85kg and a bit of an average paddler at times and it paddles really well.

LAGO at 4:00pm.... spotted a couple coming through at well known NOR Mal break that looked like summer fun... with only about 8 blokes taking turns.

Wind came in about 5:00pm and killed it...

Do you ride a surfboard? I'm curious, because there used to be people on the forum from which I am banned who would say they'd just use your type of board when conditions were marginal, but a while back I was in the opposite direction to where you live and there were a tonne of your craft even when it was smoking (outnumbering surfboards most of the time). And the funny part was, all except one of them were too scared to sit deep, I guess because you wouldn't want to get caught inside (can't blame them, it's not fun even on a surfboard). There was one guy one day, a white guy with dreadlocks (no, I'm pretty sure it wasn't you) who had some sort of ability but none of the rest did so that didn't help things. And I wondered, why on earth wouldn't you ride a surfboard and give yourself the best possible chance and the maximum enjoyment? Why sit down the line on the shoulder and drift out to the horizon every time a set loomed instead of relishing it and sitting in the impact zone? Even if you don't go, it's a sight to behold when one of those freight trains breaks metres away.

Also, do you get stinkeye out at NP (if that's where you're talking about)? I'm surprised you paddle out there. Doesn't seem the friendliest wave (or crowd) for your craft. Or were you talking about the other side?

I got out yesterday at the same place. The current was sweeping the crowd south towards Mandurah, and despite the majority of sets shutting down there was the odd one that held up quite nicely.

The atmosphere in the lineup was pretty cruisy too, lots of sharing waves and a few hoots as well. When one dropkick on a SUP turned up and started snaking everyone, even the old dudes on Mals were taking turns blocking him so those who were waiting longest could get a wave.
