Went for a kite in the arvo and there were some absolute bombs coming through. Strong northerly drift running. Should have some good sand movement!
Scarbs was fairly big but pretty unsettled early this morning. The odd wave that held up but mostly a lot of closeouts. Quick rotation for most, catch a few and get out. I got 3 keepers in an hour and was happy with that.
Saw a few places on the way home (heading north) that seemed to handle the conditions better.
A bit of swell but had my boy so spent the afternoon just watching. A few newbies thought the North wind would be held of by the hill but being a little new spent most of there tie just trying to get out the back Even after watching the couple of locals running back up the beach and coming out on the rock ledge. A few good waves rolling in but looked cold and wild with a wicked drift. Wad happy to sit that one out
Sorry photos taken with a I Phone and a small 12x zoom.. from the top of the hill
Monday morning. I got up late, realised it was offshore and decided that the office could wait. I was the only surfer down at Brighton.
Big ugly lumps rolling through, some with shape but pretty messy, plenty of power and strong drift from the north. Got a couple of waves and finally a left all the way to the beach. Decided that would do me and off to the office.
The banks are getting a serious workout!
A certain right hand beachie south of a groyne was actually holding up very well at about midday.
Decided to go elsewhere and to my surprise, ended up surfing for almost 4 hours. Desperate times I guess.
As said above, banks are getting flogged.
suba, talk to me about weed at you-might-know-where. Monday you could see it was going to be an issue. Yesterday it was impossible to surf where I wanted. Has it cleared out today, or gathered more?
It's crap everywhere.
The weed at cott has cleared a lot from yesterday but way to many guys out. Cove was crap. Everything south of it was a mess with nothing coming in sets.
As for the northern beaches, nothing decent. There were some huge slabs that would have been a lot of fun and offered long rides but it looked near impossible to position yourself with all the water movement.
Two guys were doing all right at Toms but as I got the camera set up they paddled in.
Got a couple shots of the rough conditions but that's all I achieved today haha
Looks pretty straight. Going to have to choose carefully. Got a plan in mind but depends on a few factors. Should just head out of town.
scored uncrowded bit out of control waves offshore early morning started lining up later but long waits on the full high tide ,some big barrels but even bigger hold downs 7/10
Scabs was really good fun, some spincta twitchn drops throaty close out beatings but some very good waves in between. 3.5 hours now nackered, gotta love LSL days.......crowd factor minimal too. Glad I didn't go with you Dave, the beatings and smashings I got were enough!!!
Some really big waves comin thru today
