These guys have the right idea.
Straight out there and shoot the shark. No debate, no filling in forms in triplicate, no discussion with idiotic authorities or so called experts. We should take some lessons from them.

Shooting 20 shots into the water, whilst in a inflatable boat, ever heard of bullet ricochet (hope that spelling is okay) I will say though you would be in shock to witness that so i can understand why he did it, i don't think in hindsight it was the smartest decision though

Having said that he may have been trying to drive it off, we really don't have the full story. There is a big difference from trying to save a life and culling a animal after the fact. I guess if a WA cop was in the same spot he would do the same.

I still say its a massive shame that the shark sightings from the day before could not have been better made public

Please can we not start another shark thread. At least out of respect....someone has died and all these threads end badly.

I read that a guy came in after seeing one and reported it, no one believed him.

ricochet off the water??? Are you suggesting the bullet could bounce back off the water and puncture the boat? Give me a break

I read that bit also, reckons its really rare for that event to happen over there so bull***t was called on the bloke that sighted the shark.

Apologies for refreshing this thread. I know everyone is sick of shark talk, but no sightings for a few weeks. Has sharkalarm.com stopped working?
