See Tux your probably surfing decent waves where sups would be a pain in the ass but the majority of the clowns winging on here frequent the Perth metro where on most days of the year its a one foot close out with 100 clowns in the water, which most decent surfers wouldn't even look at twice lol. Go surf some real waves and take your bitching else where, this surf forum is starting to remind me of the write to the editor page where old people with nothing better to do have a rant about **** and think that people care what they have to say .

On something worth talking about how good where the waves last Saturday some awesome banks, hope everyone got plenty of waves cos I did .

Wow can't believe I'm saying this again....but prawndog you forced my hand. _

I am the first person to say hello to anyone, in the Surf or dry land....yet I am somebody who will tell someone to pull their head in.

Now the sup monster. These folk will proclaim how they love their craft as they can go surf marginal waves and have more fun than others...that they can paddle down to a isolated place and enjoy the freedom.....PFFFFT very few will do this.

I find a nice bank with a mate on a very marginal day....Mr sup paddles out down the beach straight through
The guts while a nice rip is providing a lovely and easy dry hair paddle for all. After falling off in waist high waves,he goes the knee paddle to get out. After a laugh at what we have watched, well it is pretty obvious that the bloke has no clue. Then my mate and I will share scrappy waves while laughing at old mate in the wait....c'mon how can you learn to stand up paddle being on your knees, anyway I digress.

Well after Mr sup blows so many waves because his balance is rubbish,he will then attempt to catch waves on his knees,This also fails....so old mate then thinks, hey them blokes over there are getting waves so I wIll join them. Well we already know the drill from here,as this is not a new hazard...mind you this last occurrence happens with all.Surf craft....but mr sup takes the cake. He will wobble over and take his rightful position haha. No hello no farking anything on his mind except I m getting waves now.

Well I will give the usual hello, because hey not all dangers in the surf are complete knob heads...

Now we are the enemy. Old mate wI'll then proceed to knee paddle on the very next wave that comes through...then fall off. He then paddles straight to his position....then does it again...manners or an idea do not exist. So in a friendly jokey way we will try and educate...we fail ,followed by his righteousness. This particular sup person is the same as someone who cuts you off on the highway, or makes a illegal u turn and causes a pile up....then abuses you for being in the wrong, as this specimen of stupidity is never wrong, and knows all.....life owes him.

Part one

Part two about the bully sup is next

I love these blokes!! If I meet them I say if you can't ****ing surf go sit on the shoulder and stay out of the way....I dunno if its my ugly mug of my winning persona but they usually follow direction...I am happy to provide instruction for boogers, shorties, longboards, sups...pretty much anyone that drops in or doesn't know which they should be going.....

Sorry if I hit a nerve guys... starting a thread that got so heated. I guess some of the behaviours annoy me but I didn't want to start a full on thread. I'm sure I've annoyed my fair share of blokes. I guess the main grievance I have is that they could really hurt someone. That and they don't seem to know the rules, but anyone could make that mistake. The original point of the thread was to show that as a new sport I think they are naive thinking their sport is worthy of shutting down the river (to water skiers). I mean, if this is the attitude that is pouring from the organisers of the sport's events down, that would explain some behaviours listed above.

Anyone can do the wrong thing though. Surfers can think they rip when they don't (straight back to the inside for a few of the blokes including some on the forum who 'aren't here to watch others surf'), the waterskiers with their malibus/wakesetters often think they own the river (turn the wake right up, don't worry if someone is waiting for a foot run), I've been hit in the head by a kite and then panicked thinking the line would cut me like braid, surf boats/clubies charging through busy beaches or running over people on quads... the list goes on.

Anyone can do the wrong thing... Some SUP guys are great.

i was just reading through this thread and if you change the word from SUP and make it something redneck like..well you'll get my point.
.. its all about tolerance.
chrispy i told you the other day about the guy and his son who paddled up to me on my own (DAD on a mal SON on SB) sat 15 feet from me with peaks everywhere on an endless beach i said G,day and the pr!ck said nothing back, then F****'n drop in with his first wave .. i will swear my life on that story.

so lets hang all dads sons long boarders and short boarders.

chrispy if your paddling out the back on your head i wouldnt give a flying f***.
but i would think F*** that hippster is cool

Hahaha. I surfed the local on the weekend. And SDR showed his Kelly slater head...all was good until 2 I won't say what race, tried to take over. Everyone tried to be cool but I did have a talk to the instigator...knob head tried to bully me....but failed, everyone was glad someone spoke up...
well this should be another thread, when should peeps say something. We'll these two were on longboards,I was as well........BUT the sup monster is a different beast

Don't mind me paddle pig I was probably a bit harsh with my above post, but it wasn't directed at you as such just at a couple on here that decided to turn the thread into a school girl bitch fest, although you may have had more success in posting that in the SUP forum and asked for a please explain I'm sure someone there may have been able to answer and yes you are completely right a Sup in the wrong hand is dangerous in the line up, education is the key set them right then and there.

What? I have to do it in person? Surely I can just complain on the internet and that will fix it.

Had three SUP ***wits paddling across the river the other night while I was driving our boat back to sea. You would think they would stop and wait to let a 50ft boat go past (especially as I was in a narrow passage point) but no, they started paddling out right across us instead of just waiting for 10 seconds. Needless to say I gave it some juice and proceeded to piss myself laughing as they all got knocked off by the wake.
