Hi all, change of topic, sick of hearing about sharks. Looking at getting a board for summer, any thoughts on the katana range. anyone riding them. What's your thoughts on their epxoy range. Even a suggestion on what board for a intermediate, surfs local, and down south up to 5ft. My weights around 72kgs

Got my first Katana a few weeks ago! Been wanting to try them for a while. Awesome boards! Easy to paddle and is super fast down the line! I'm loving it!

Definitely looking at getting another one shaped soon!

Mocha1 and Sham hows your epoxy katana boards going? Ordered mine today, 5'11x19 1/2x2 1/2 quad, pick it up in 3 weeks can't wait. How do you find the quad setup, down the line speed and hold in the barrel?

Have only had the 1 surf on it but it went like a rocket, nearly fell off the back of it as it took off down the line last sat (pretty good swell) holds gooooood and turns really quickly/tight compared to my last quad. - all expected by Dave with his tweeks to my last quad wider but thinner in the rails ,narrower tail and back fins a bit closer together
Off to Bali and Lombok in 2 weeks cant wait to test it out on long good shape wave

but it goes good so far

Mocha1, what fins you riding. Haven't surfed a quad before so any help would be good help. Let us know how you go in lombok. Surf there last year at gerupuk, so much fun. Enjoy

im using INDOFINS copy Kelly Slater set(find em on ebay), comes with five fins so you can use a thruster set up. Have also got a set of PC7 quad set (SURF ECLIPSE set)cheaper than FCS

Ive also tried that little centre fin - knubster-that Slater uses, it does something not quite sure yet but it did make my last quad a little more "direct", havnt tried it on the new one yet

That sounds like a BIG board for 72kg surfer...??

Being a wide board (and I'm the same weight, level and location) I'd be looking at length of 5'8 - 5'11 personally.
