Not sure how this link will work but with 5 minutes to go all competiors had one wave in the 6 to 7 range.

Melling got his 9 and then Medina on the next wave got just over an eight.

Seen a few comments that Melling was overscored.

I dont think people watching online understand the power of Sunset and therefore how hard those turns Melling did are. You can hear it in the Shea Lopez voice. I had a go at the commentary in another thread but the froth came back to his voice.

Anyway I think the right result.

Every time Medina doesn't get a score the Brazos are crying
Medina is quickly turning into a sook

I agree at least he had a semi smile on his face this time, way too much pressure on him from fam' and friends imo.

Now bring on Parko for the title please.

He is hardly a sook. Yes his previous performance was poor but he has clearly learned from that and I thought his body language was much improved this time around - I was watching very carefully given what happened last time. Some of the other brazo's seem like sooks though - esp some of the one eyed supporters....probably a bit like when the All Blacks play for me or the Aussies for you If you think he is a sook - what do you think of Bernard Tomic?

Do not forget that he is just 18......18!!!!! He does have a whole lot on his shoulders at a very young age. I reckon on the whole he has copped extremely well given how much his life has changed in the past year. It would seem to me that he has a great set of values and has been well brought up.

Yeah I thought he handled it much better this time.

Either learnt lesson or this time he didnt think the result was wrong.

Didnt see the shots of family this time so I wonder if he is more relaxed as he doesnt have the whole clan screaming from the beach.

I think this was posted before but just to remind ourselves about surfing gods and mere mortals this is what he can do in a one foot wave.
