I have Slingshot Hoverglide i76 on my SS Freestyle 115 with 90 cm HG mast and would like to give the i84 wing a try.
For the 84 SS recomends switching the fuse from B to D position but that means a lot of screwing. Can the center of effort being more back on the i84 not be compensated simply by keeping the fuse in the B position and moving the mast forward in the track? On the i76 I put the mast at 8cm from the back and it can easily go a lot more forward.
Anyone has experience on how many cm's difference in mast placement between these 2 foils?
I think you meant to say C position rather than D. I have both the i76 and i84 but my board has a fixed Tuttle box and I do reverse the fuselage and use the C position for the i84. Reversing the fuselage to use the C position rather than B moves the front wing forward by approximately 5 cm. I think you should be able to move the foil mast forward by 5 cm and use position B. This should position the front wing in the same place as leaving the foil mast in its current location and using the C position.

Yeah right I meant C indeed...sorry. Still curious why SS and a lot of posts in this forum recomend position C when moving the mast forward is so obvious... Does advancing the mast compared to opting for the C position have any adverse effects?

I think many of us were on deep Tuttle back then, so moving the mast wasn't an option. Most of us would just buy another fuse and stab and have two gliders. However, I don't personally like to move the mast to adjust for different centers of foil lift, as I feel it impacts stability in gybes and in swell, I would rather use shims (we didn't think much of shimming back in the hover glide days)
Also many bigger guys never felt the need to to flip to C position for the i84.
I use the i 76 at the very back of the tracks and i 84 all the way forward never needed the c position always b position. Levitator 160.
