I know there's a buy/sell page, but this is a bit different - I'm not trying to sell equipment but give away antique stuff that hasn't been used for about 20 years & has been stored indoors, before it all goes to the tip (or to the nearby Revolve 2nd hand goods facility if they'll take it).

I'm aware from an article by Peter Hart in UK Windsurf of June 2008 of the huge changes in equipment & technique since the early 90s. So I'm not trying to offload this to a beginner - just a desperate attempt to see if I can avoid it all ending up on the tip.

It's a longshot but perhaps there is a collector of vintage 80s equipment out there with lots of storage space !

In brief, this is what we have:
- fibreglass 8' 9" waveboard (Performance Sailboards, W'gong)
- Mistral 'Tarifa' - 140 litres; 330 cm long, 65cm wide; 12.5 kg
- 5 full-batten sails (3.7m; 4.9m; 5.7m; 6.2m; 7.2m - Hood, Gaastra, Windsurfing Hawaii, Mistral), 2 booms, 2 x 2-piece fibreglass masts; mastfoots)
- Tyronsea 360 long board, sail & mast but no mastfoot

I also have a large collection of windsurfing magazines from the 80s that I need to rationalise at some stage (eg, lots of issues of US 'Windsurf'; 'Sail Boarder'; 'WindRider'; & 'Windsurfing'; & miscellaneous issues of UK 'Windsurf', 'Boards' & Aust. 'Freesail'). If you are interested in taking some of these mags, let me know if you'd like more information on what I have.

Good on you for trying.

I felt the same. Have 2 old boards in a working condition which I couldn't just throw away, so I tried the same via Seabreeze and Gumtree, and got ridiculed over the email by someone, then and jerked over the phone by a a prick who made me stay home all afternoon waiting for him.

A friend of mine left his old board on the Pinnaroo Point grass area, and the next morning it was gone and that made him happy.
It may have been picked up by the rubbish truck

I may do the same, and tell myself they were taken by a tooth fairy...

goodonyou for giving this gear away free.Random acts of kindness will always come back to you somehow. If it wasnt for a guy giving me a free sail,I would probley still be saving $$$ just to get on the water.
Hats off to you and hope it goes to someone deserving,
Ian

Hope there was no wind...

When I agree that it's 2 o'clock, I always tell them I have to go some place at 2:05.
They usually show up on time then (or not at all).

One is a Bombora (134L slalom).
I learnt to waterstart on it and had my my 1st successful gybe on it. It's heavy but picks up speed quickly.

The other one is BIC Adagio 106L. A friend gave it to me. I was keen to try it as my first "small board" but have since used a 115L a lot more, and recently went to 98L, so never really utilised it.

Both boards have fins on them.

I got motivated by this thread again , and created an advert here:
