Looking at one as a thermal rashie........ at the right price too..... but the zipper goes down from mid-back level to hips level, so the zipper will sit just above my bum crack - with a waist harness pushing on it.

Anyone else using one and is that a problem? Or does the neoprene, albeit thin, cushion and you don't feel it?

I had one with a zip at the back before.
For me it was literally a pain in the ass.

Flying objects have a 2mm vest that is super warm super flexi and does it all without zips. $120 i think?

Get a Radiator Mark. No zips !!!

I'm sure they make them in a "medium" to fit you

It kinda is a thermal vest - 1.1mm neoprene. Just thick enough it probably needs a zip as it is thicker than a Radiator or one of the 0.5mm other brands.
The zip only runs from probably the hips up about 20cm.
Trouble is the damn zipper toggle handle thingo is at the bottom when it is done up

Buuut it is $45 posted ...... tempting

Have you read the thread about the polypropylene vests in the gear review section? They seem to be the go, recommended by a Swedish windsurfer.

Pro motion have a good range of sizes, that's who I got mine from.

http://stores.wetsuit.com/Detail.bok?category=Rashguards%3AMen%27s+Short+Sleeve+Tops&no=87?m_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fstores.wetsuit.com%2FCategories.bok%3Fcategory%3DRashguards%253AMen%2527s%2BShort%2BSleeve%2BTops&searchpath=102191934

west also make them locally, postage will be less and quicker. Their website doesn't give the size ranges.
westsurfing.com/wetsuits/polyfleece
Polyfleece lycra is the same thing, or does the same thing at least.

Thanks Anita

I will be buying a new spring suit in well, about spring , and it will be a West as their warranty is second to none. Nice to know I can get a West polypropylene rashie too so I will just buy both together

Mark, just be done with it and get yourself an FO Neo Top.
I wear mine all summer. As a matter of fact I'm still wearing it now in May for SUP surfing

Is lycra thicker?
Got Quiksilver Heater II locally for $66 today ( need it NOW) for under wetsuit.
A long sleeve model is the go, works really well!!!
Doubt if you would be into a battery heated one for 250 dol ?

Won't be buying the Quiksilver one. West will get my business forever more, due to their warranty being exceptional.
... was just tempted by the Ripcurl neoprene vest being cheap.

And yes anita, greenie does look like a superhero in his skintight stuff
