Hey I went to Scabs yesturday. Barely any wind. No more than 15knots.
So I rigged up Riders 5.7m Tushie Rock (mine is getting repaired) and wacked it on my Starboard 76L Fish... and away I went
Marco suggested this time to try the camera on the other side of the boom. I think next time I try it I will make a conscious effort to keep the clew low as to see where Im going on the wave rather than the sky.
Anywho enjoy
Hmmm every time from now on you borrow my sail, you will have to film your whole session just so I can make sure your looking after my sail. Well done I didn't even see any whitecaps on the water. I suppose if I too had anorexia I'd get going in super light winds.
Gee doesn't the sail belly out when a gust hits!
Lovely vid Greeny, if I'd known you were going out at scabs I would have joined you instead of going to Pinaroo...
we used a boom cam in maui. exept mounted it on the clew looking forward. worked sick! awsome footage. gives you a good idea of how much stress your boom is under. we had a carbon chinook and you could see it flexing!! cool stuff.
Cool Vid ,
What kind of camera is that and what software do u use for editing?
I am getting a Helmet cam soon and wanna make sum vids like that too!
Ahh, you're one mellow dude Greenroom. Your video, with its supa soundtrack, sun flares and refreshing dips into the ocean, completely neutralised the effect of filling in my (very overdue) BAS, GST & PAYG statements just now. Back in reality now.
I couldn't quite pick who it was in the soundtrack, very familiar...
Glad everyone is enjoying the vids. Its been a blast making them.
I went out again this arvo and this time put the camera on the clew facing forward as suggested. Im still yet to look at the footage. Hope it turned out. Im keen to make another vid. Stay tuned
Groovy man, I like it, I like it a lot. Makes it feel like like I was there. One Question, where did you find a waterproof stereo and did it take up much room on the boom?
