The "Cervantes Speed" speedsailing weekend has now been confirmed for the 20-21 November 2010 so Reg from Windsurfing Perth has asked me to put this poster up and a few details of what is looking like an awesome weekend.
Sponsored by Windsurfing Perth and Neil Pryde, Cervantes Speed will be the same format as previous years but this year we will be bringing a helicopter up to take photos and make a video of the weekend. So if you want us to follow you around in the helicopter and get some great shots here's those details;
There will be a separate course for helicopter shots (out and back). Plan is for people wanting photos to line up and we will follow each person through the course then come back to the start for the next person - group shots with your mates/family etc. can be done as well. We will also be filming the mini-marathon on the Sunday.
Entry for the event is still FREE. If you want photos from the helicopter, you will need to register and pay a fee of $95. You will receive all images taken of yourself over the two days on a C.D. after the event - these will be hi-res images so you can print them as you wish. You will also be a part of the great video we will be putting together. You do not need to register for the event if you don't want photos taken.
Registration forms will be available in a few weeks but payment won't be requested till approx. 2 weeks before the event. Even though the event has no limits on the number of entries, the helicopter photoshoot will have a limit of 75 people and sail numbers will be recommended.
Anybody who wants video footage of themselves windsurfing on that weekend can contact me directly and we can do your own video shoot there (additional costs). We'll be heading off to get some wavesailing shots nearby as well but those details will be announced closer to the event. Should be a great weekend and hope we see heaps of people up there!
Registration forms for the Cervantes Speed helicopter photoshoot are now available at Windsurfing Perth or you can copy the one below and send to us. Spots are limited to 75 people so get in quick as quite a few have already been "pre-booked". (No money needs to be sent till approx. 6 weeks before the event.) Also, 75 people is the limit for the photos - anyone can turn up to go in the actual event and entry is still free. Sail numbers are recommended to make it easier to sort the images after the event but aren't compulsory.
[In the event of a poor forecast or no wind for that weekend it would be unlikely that we would take the helicopter so the entry fee will be refunded.]

Hey Birdseyeview,
Thought you might be interested...
Aeronautical Engineers Australia have just developed a 'Shooter's Footrest' for the R44 Heli which snaps onto the skid uprights in about 5 minutes. It allows the passenger to swivel out of the forward or aft seat (door removed) and steady themselves whilst shooting a rifle, or in your case a big camera.
PM me if you want more details. Elmo will pay extra for sharper images.
Porka - I'll run it by the guys next week. That's something that I don't like about 44's , no footrest.....oh, and cup holder!
