I need ideas for graphics for a custom board. I have seen some very nice designs on kiteboards thru my google searching, but nothing for windsurfers.

Is there anyone out there that designs graphics? Even if you can just draw/computer generate something and I'll figure out how to get it on the board later.

Share your creations here, or PM me and I'll send you my email address to send some samples of your work.

If you want to find someone to put something extra special on the board have a look around the custom car forums for guys that do airbrush work on cars. It won't be cheap mind you, I would guess at about $400-500 or so for so board, but will certainly turn heads and be one of a kind.

Just remember when you graphic up a custom board, if you ding it... bye bye graffix.... prolly worth while putting the graffix away from high probability ding areas

Go with the timeless classic... a 5ft hi (long?) sticker of a bikini clad or naked chick.

Need a Sandman to put it in though....

Good point, I'll keep that in mind.

I found out that I guy I know is an airbrush artist! - mostly does motorcycles, but a board is no problem for him.

Now I need some ideas of what to get.... I'm not into flames/skulls and bikini lady's been waaay overdone.

Whats wrong with the slippery little sucker you use for an avatar????

I,ve always wanted something like this, but it wouldn't last long on the beach in summer.

I've had a bit of experience with this kind of thing in the past as a graphic artist and long-time sailboarder. A few years ago, a mate of mine - a surfboard-builder made me a custom fibreglass sailboard and he embedded the graphic in the glass. No problem. Just print the graphic on tracing paper - paper becomes invisible when the epoxy hits it and the graphic is protected. If your custom board is anything other than clear resin your options may be to screenprint directly onto the board or use either vinyl-cut graphics or solvent inkjet like they use for vehicle wraps. Either way is subject to the rigours of usage. But if you use vinyl, the design needs to consider the medium as there are limitations. You might also consider that graphics on a board can create a slippery patch if on the top deck and need to be under the non-slip surface.

Let me know if I can help.

Hmmm, not bad but needs more green arrows and swell.
Like the blue flame board, would be alright on a high wind board which are mainly used on cooler days with good air flow.
Maybe try cuting the boards plan shape around 150mm long out of a piece of cardboard (weeties packet). Hold the outside template over an image to see what the board could look like. Easy to get the size right, just move the template in and out over the image until it fits. Could even leave the deck pad area on the template and colour them in with little foot straps on them. I think I've just talked myself into doing it for my next board.
