Well after years of loading sailing gear on roofs, having so much gear in the back of the wagon that you cant see out the back, we have completed our windsurfing trailer. Big thanks to Chris (Grandfromage) and my dad for doing lots of the work. As some of you know I have very little idea when it comes to all things 'handyman' so your help was much appreciated! Chris especially was helpful with a workshop at his work the size of a tennis court that had welders, tools, metal guilotines (and a few tradies to help with welds etc - funny how you need gas for welding tools eh Chris?)

The trailer was a total dunga rusted out POS, now its all painted and ready to go!

Ohhhhh.....Gas struts!!!!!!!!!!!

My one legged dad....not

Looks the goods Dave - Looks like less gear when it's packed in your trailer rather than the station wagon! now all you need is to build a big wind generator and you might get to put into use!
April - don't you liv it the no wind month of the year

Young Tom's been hassling for another blast on the RRD and 2.0metre with your young lass - he keeps telling me how good he is already (5 yo delusions of grandeur)- going to have to buy some kiddies gear I think!

Thats looks awsome nice work. Thats what we would do if we had a shack at Goolwa, but dad doesn't like driving long distances with a trailer on. As for now we'll be sticking with the ute i think for a while.

Cheers

With three sailors in the family now we need to extra room in the car! Our 5 year olds getting going these days...

Russ, call whenever you are ready, been good conditions for the kiddies lately ie not much wind!

Should have made it bigger by the look of the other boards in the shed.

Still room on the roof for boards, and could probably put another board on the trailer!

The other boards in the shed do not get used much.....Bic Vivace 107ltr and John Hall 295 (oh yeah)

I originally had a budget of $400-500, that blew out to at least $1000. Mags will have to wait. Although I was thinking of getting some fully sick old holden domes chrome hub caps!

Looks good, blow out the budget to include a spare tyre you will need it when you come down this way. I've had a trailer for a long time leave the gear in all the time just hook on and go easy as.

i just hope you aren't one of those carpark stealers. i can't stand when theres limited parking, and some inconsiderate bastard has decided that he needs to take up 2 parks by putting his trailer in one and car in the other.

really fantastic job on the traileri've always daydreamed of my wannabe windsurfing ute however just at thati tried to imagine where the racks and sails would be and to top it off with a 10liter fresh water tank w/ electric sprayer for a cool good rinse not just for me but for everyone else and equipment..you ever thought of that divaldoi think you can still stuff one 5ltr. cannister up front and wired to your batteries..just a thought

Do you have a better idea for people who wish to park with a trailer? Maybe a third trailier, bit like a car transproter with two stories, one for the first trailer and one for the car.

I will be very conscientious (spelling) when it comes to parking, if we are down south parking wont be an issue, but semaphore or other places might be an issue....

Got the struts gassed last night, no need for block to hold up lid anymore, lifts easy and holds weight!

I so excited!

Well now you got that you will have room for a full 150L fire fighting unit it the back of your station wagon. Provide cleaning and shower facilities for the whole crew i reckon with one of them. Couldn't go wrong

Nice trailer Divaldo, I plan to get a trailer too. I'd like one that I can lock my boards in too, can you lock yours? Nice rex I have the blue rex wagon I can fit a fair bit of gear in it but a trailer would be great.

I got the REX wagon as well, now we have the trailer we can take that sailing a it more with out fear of scratching th eroof or denting the waffer thin panels on the thing!

I am not too worried about locking the boards to the traile, but I have been thinking about locking the lid,

Was going to just have a fence gate bolt system on the mud guard, thoughts anyone?
