48 competitors for the warm up event with more expected for the event proper, which starts this wed (03Feb11).
Hot and windy conditions are expected to continue, which could make this into a truly epic event.

Brett,
It seems that I have been counted by the start finish boat as FE +. I apologise If I misled anyone but I was in fact completing two laps.
You see I would not normally worry about such a trivial matter - who could complain about being in one of the best sailing spots with 15 - 20 knots and four races - but I was on strict instructions from Uncle Bruce that I was never to darken the FE+ door again. (I am politly intepreting his instructions - lets just say his diatribe included included a verb and finished with calling me a noun).
I fear that if my results are not either
a) recalibrated to reflect my true results (I finished way ahead of those Brazilian fellows for the record) OR
b) removed from the record altogether
that I will live a life in fear of another verbal lashing from Uncle Bruce.
Please help
Ben Turner AUS 555
We will sort that out asap Ben!
In the meantime, here is a sick photo of me from the helicopter shoot we did yesterday for the event. More photos here: http://www.fw-australia.com/media-gallery/photo-galleries/?album=2&gallery=12
Thanks Sean - the wrath of Uncle Bruce has been averted
To the morons who red thumbed Sean's photo - grow up - the effort put in by the organisning committee (of which Sean is the chair) is nothing short of incredible and thanks and praise should be rained on all involved in both the NSW state series and the nationals for providing ordinary weekend wallies (such as myself) with the opportunity to race with the worlds best.
Great photo Chris.... i think i could fit 2 feet in those foot straps.
Can you buy shoes over the counter?
